In the early hours of April 2nd, the entire territory of Ugly Country was shrouded in toxic gas across all ten states. Not only that, but the gas had also spread into two neighboring countries. This made all nations realize the severity of the situation. 0

Countries around the world quickly formed research teams, pouring in vast amounts of funding without hesitation. Their goal was to develop a special disinfectant against the alien bacteria before the gas spread to their own territories. However, the development of this disinfectant soon hit a deadlock. First and foremost, all chlorine-based disinfectants were proven ineffective against this type of bacteria. 0

Through analysis of the components of the toxic gas, it was found that the gas produced by this bacteria was a mixture of various gases, with Trichloroethylene and Dichloroethane being the most prevalent chlorine-containing organic gases. In other words, this bacteria could produce chlorine-containing substances itself, making it absurd to think that chlorine-based disinfectants could eliminate them—like trying to suffocate a dog with a meat bun. 0

As research progressed, scientists quickly discovered that not only chlorine-based disinfectants but all oxidative disinfectants had no effect on this alien bacteria. These types of disinfectants, like chlorine-based ones, worked by using strong oxidizing agents to oxidize enzymes related to metabolism within the bacteria, ultimately killing them. However, the enzymes involved in metabolism in this alien bacteria were entirely different from those found in Earth’s bacteria, rendering oxidative disinfectants incapable of inactivating these enzymes. 0

Since oxidative disinfectants were ineffective, researchers swiftly shifted their focus to non-oxidative disinfectants. However, these types of disinfectants also had minimal effect on the alien bacteria. Compared to the control group, the total bacterial count in the experimental group treated with these disinfectants decreased by less than one-third. 0

Faced with these results, researchers from various countries were at a loss; previously effective disinfectants against bacteria on Blue Star had been proven ineffective against this alien strain. They now had to start from scratch to develop a new type of disinfectant. 0

However, such a daunting task could not be accomplished overnight, and time was running out for them. On the evening of April 3rd, several cities along the southern coast of a Southeast Asian Country were invaded by this alien bacteria, with half of the country enveloped in toxic gas. 0

Speculations arose about how this bacteria made its way onto the Eurasian continent; some believed it entered through cargo ships at ports, while others thought it was carried by ocean currents and monsoons. Regardless of how it happened, what mattered now was that according to observations over the next few days, this bacteria would soon wreak havoc across Eurasia, with toxic gas spreading into Dragon Kingdom within hours. 0

Currently, panic reigned online in Dragon Kingdom. It was over; in just a few hours, the toxic gas would arrive—this might truly be the end of the world. People rushed to stock up on supplies while they still could; once the gas arrived, they wouldn't even be able to step outside. Without food at home, they would face starvation. 0

As the impending toxic gas loomed closer, citizens of Dragon Kingdom fell into a state of panic. 0

Goods of all sizes in the supermarkets were being frantically snatched up, and several large stores even reported stampedes. 0

To prevent the situation from spiraling further out of control, the authorities of the Dragon Kingdom dispatched nearly ten thousand police officers to various locations to maintain order; however, this was merely a drop in the bucket. 0

Now, it wasn't just the supermarkets that were chaotic; the streets of the Dragon Kingdom were also in disarray. Many vehicles no longer followed traffic rules, leading to frequent accidents and collisions. 0
