Lu Zihau was suddenly struck, blood gushing from his nose. He struggled to twist his body, tears streaming down his face.
Wang Fugui's expression was cold as he turned to look at Lu Xiaoran on the other end of the phone, speaking in a low voice, "Do you see this? If you refuse to hand over the food and the house, these three will suffer."
Lu Xiaoran watched the Lu Zhengjun family writhing in pain up in the tree, feeling an inexplicable sense of satisfaction. The sight of them being beaten brought him immense relief.

A smug smile appeared on Wang Fugui's face as he realized that Lu Xiaoran had deep feelings for his uncle's family. It seemed he had made the right choice by using these people as hostages.
To heighten the drama of the situation, Wang Fugui decided to let each hostage speak a few words to Lu Xiaoran. He approached Lu Zhengjun and pointed the camera at him.
Seeing Lu Xiaoran on the video call, Lu Zhengjun immediately looked like he had found a savior and urgently exclaimed, "Lu Xiaoran! Please save us! We're going to be killed by these people!"
After Lu Zhengjun finished speaking, Wang Fugui turned the camera towards Liu Huilan.
Liu Huilan's cheeks were red and swollen from being slapped, making her look quite comical. Upon seeing Lu Xiaoran on the video call, she burst into tears and cried out, "Lu Xiaoran! I have always regarded you as my own son! You must come and save us!"
Once Liu Huilan finished speaking, the camera shifted to Lu Zihau.
Upon seeing Lu Xiaoran, Lu Zihau's eyes lit up immediately. Struggling, he shouted to Lu Xiaoran, "Brother, they beat me up so badly! Come save me!"
Having been spoiled at home for so long, Lu Zihau had always been headstrong and willful. He had never referred to his cousin Lu Xiaoran with any formality before. However, after taking a beating this time, he surprisingly addressed Lu Xiaoran as "Brother."
Seeing him in such a state nearly made Lu Xiaoran burst into laughter.
