The woman stood frozen in place, unsure of the armored figure before her.
Lu Xiaoran, observing her from a distance, was the first to break the silence. "What was your relationship with those two? Why did you want to kill them?"
He was curious about what kind of grudge could lead this woman to freeze those men into ice sculptures.
Upon hearing Lu Xiaoran's question, the woman paused for a moment, then a look of disdain crossed her face. Although Lu Xiaoran was completely encased in armor, his voice revealed that he was a young man.
She glanced at him sideways, clicking her tongue dismissively. "What does it matter to you if I killed them? You should just crawl away."
Lu Xiaoran felt a bit speechless; he hadn't done anything yet, so why was she telling him to crawl away? Just as he was about to respond, the woman spoke again. "You men have been riding on our backs for thousands of years just because you're born stronger than us. Now that I have this ability to eliminate you in an instant, let's see if you dare act arrogant."
Lu Xiaoran's expression darkened as he replied helplessly, "Sister, are you out of your mind? Is your first instinct to throw punches when faced with a problem?"
Ignoring him completely, the woman confidently walked toward him. From her earlier actions at the window, Lu Xiaoran had figured out that her ability only worked upon contact with her target. When she splashed water earlier, she had waved her hand through the air and touched the water that spilled from the cup. Similarly, when she froze that man, she had touched his shoulder directly.
Since the human body is composed mostly of water, freezing all that water turned the man into an ice sculpture. It seemed this woman's ability allowed her to quickly freeze water upon contact. Now she approached Lu Xiaoran with the intent to freeze him as well.
Understanding her plan, Lu Xiaoran knew he couldn't let her succeed. He swiftly raised his right hand and conjured a gleaming handgun in an instant.
The woman's expression changed as surprise flickered across her face. She hadn't expected Lu Xiaoran to possess an ability of his own, especially one that could summon a gun out of thin air.
Quickly regaining her composure, she stopped in her tracks and darted to the side, grabbing a fish tank from the table and hurling it toward Lu Xiaoran.
Water splashed into the air from the fish tank, and the woman swiftly waved her hand. The water she touched quickly transformed into a flurry of ice blades, shooting towards Lu Xiaoran.
Lu Xiaoran hurriedly lifted off the ground, using his Flight Ability to evade the icy attack.
Seeing Lu Xiaoran suspended in mid-air, the woman's face displayed a look of shock. She hadn't expected that not only could he conjure a handgun out of thin air, but he could also fly like this using his Ability.
It was clear that Lu Xiaoran's abilities far surpassed her own Freezing Ability. If the battle continued, she had no chance of winning.
Panicking, the woman turned and dashed towards the door, desperate to escape from the room.
But Lu Xiaoran would not give her a chance to flee. He raised his gun and pulled the trigger.
Bang!
The bullet struck her in the lower back, causing her to cry out in pain and collapse to the ground, writhing in agony.
