Seeing the sudden surge of water in the corridor, the robber was taken aback.
"What... what do you want to do?"
He had no idea what Lu Xiaoran was planning. With a look of terror, he raised his gun and fired two shots around the corner. However, Lu Xiaoran was standing too far from the corner for the bullets to hit him.
As the water in the corridor continued to rise, it had already reached the robber's legs. At that moment, Lu Xiaoran bent down and pressed his right hand against the water on the ground. In an instant, the flowing water froze into solid ice.
The lower half of the robber's body was immediately encased in ice, and he struggled in pain. Lu Xiaoran glanced at him from around the corner. The robber's gun was frozen into the ice below him, and both of his hands were also trapped.
Now there was no need to worry about him shooting himself in panic. So, Lu Xiaoran walked steadily across the icy surface toward the man. The robber trembled in fear, trying to retreat, but with his hands and feet frozen in place, he couldn't move an inch.
Lu Xiaoran approached the man and slowly asked, "Were you two trying to rob someone? By the way, where did you get those two guns?"
Seeing Lu Xiaoran holding a submachine gun and realizing he had just frozen the water on the ground, it was clear that Lu Xiaoran also possessed abilities. The man understood that his life was now in Lu Xiaoran's hands.
In such a situation, he dared not lie to Lu Xiaoran and hurriedly confessed everything he had done before. He explained that he had previously worked as a shooting instructor at a live-fire shooting range. After toxic gas invaded their area, he and his brother were trapped at home.
After more than a month passed and their food supplies ran out, both of them felt they were at their wits' end due to the effects of the gas. They believed they could not hold on much longer.
On the night of May 10th, the man discovered something remarkable. The rashes that had appeared on his skin due to the effects of the poison gas had inexplicably vanished. Not only that, but the symptoms of coughing and dizziness caused by the gas had also mysteriously subsided. After several attempts, he finally confirmed that he had developed an immunity to the poison gas; it no longer posed any threat to his body.
"Brother, I'm heading to the Shooting Range to grab two guns. With those, we can raid our neighbor's food supplies," he said. Thanks to his possession of the Shooting Range key, he could now go downstairs without hesitation, crossing the street to reach the Shooting Range.
His brother, already desperate from hunger, eagerly agreed when he heard that guns were on the way. So, the man walked down the road to the Shooting Range and retrieved two loaded handguns.
After bringing back the guns, the two brothers went upstairs. They smashed open their neighbor's door and shot dead the entire family of three. However, they barely had time to enjoy their newly acquired spoils before they were targeted by Lu Xiaoran outside the window, becoming prey in his sights.
