Looking at the extinguished fire in the room, Lu Xiaoran let out a long sigh. After turning off the fire hydrant, he returned to Room 02. The walls and floor of the entire room were covered with a thick layer of ice. Li Hongmei and that sneaky man were both frozen in the ice, appearing like two lifeless ice sculptures standing motionless.
Lu Xiaoran walked up to Li Hongmei's frozen body and raised his fist, striking down hard. Crack! With Lu Xiaoran's physical enhancement ability, his punch carried much more force than an ordinary person's. The blow shattered the ice sculpture into several pieces that fell to the ground.
He picked up a shard from the ground and touched the contents inside. Soon, he felt a new energy flowing into his body. Focusing on controlling this energy, Lu Xiaoran extended his hand and swung it forward. In an instant, a ball of flame erupted in his palm. As he moved his hand through the air, the flame danced along with his motions.
Lu Xiaoran tested it out; the flames could reach about a meter away from his palm. This ability didn’t seem very impressive. He shook his head to himself. He had hoped that this fire ability would allow him to attack distant targets directly. However, after acquiring it, he realized it could only strike at close range. If an enemy was more than a meter away, this fire ability wouldn’t be able to reach them.
Nevertheless, having more abilities was always beneficial, and Lu Xiaoran certainly wouldn’t complain about having this newly acquired power. After adjusting his clothes, he made his way down the stairs and got back into the same car he had arrived in.
Upon reaching the shelter, Lu Xiaoran found Zhang Kaiwen and pretended to look terrified as he spoke to him: "Boss, we were ambushed while trying to gather supplies just now. That person had spread alcohol on the floor of their house, and as soon as we broke down the door, they set it on fire."
I narrowly escaped, saving my life. Li Hongmei didn't make it out; she was burned alive inside.
Upon hearing this, Zhang Kaiwen's face showed a look of shock. He waved his hand at Lu Xiaoran and spoke with a grim expression, "I understand. You can go now."
After Lu Xiaoran left, Zhang Kaiwen furrowed his brows and began pacing in the room. It seemed he needed to equip these Ability users with some weapons. Especially those whose abilities were relatively weak; if they went into the residential buildings unarmed to rob, they could easily be killed by the residents living there.
During the earlier prison break, Zhang Kaiwen had taken several prisoners with him to seize the guards' handguns. They managed to get their hands on a total of seventeen guns, along with about ten rounds of ammunition.
Although they now had guns, Zhang Kaiwen had not distributed them to the recruited Ability users. On one hand, he didn't know these people's backgrounds and couldn't trust them easily. If he handed over the guns and they turned against him, Zhang Kaiwen would find himself in a very passive position.
On the other hand, he currently had no other way to acquire more ammunition. Once those ten or so rounds were used up, the handguns would be useless, so Zhang Kaiwen couldn't afford to waste any bullets. Every bullet counted; losing even one meant he had one less to rely on.
