Seeing his expression, Lu Xiaoran felt that Ma Zhibiao probably had no idea what the van was up to. He initially thought that Ma Zhibiao had conspired with someone in advance to bring about his demise, but it seemed that might not be the case.
Lu Xiaoran silently reminded himself: even if that van wasn't sent by the shelter, he still couldn't let his guard down. He needed to be ready at all times to use his ability and jump out of the vehicle.
The car driven by Lu Xiaoran sped along the road, and he could see that they were getting closer to Fog Mountain, which was only about a mile away. In the distance, the towering Fog Mountain loomed ahead.
It seemed that the van was getting closer and closer to them. Ma Zhibiao, looking anxious, leaned over to Lu Xiaoran and urgently said, "It looks like that vehicle is really coming after us. You need to drive faster and try to shake it off."
Lu Xiaoran nodded, and just as he prepared to step on the gas to increase the distance between them and the pursuing van, it suddenly accelerated and charged forward.
Bang!
The van collided forcefully with the back of Lu Xiaoran's car. Since their relative speed wasn't too high, the impact wasn't overwhelmingly strong. However, after the collision, the van continued to push against Lu Xiaoran's car without slowing down.
Having anticipated this situation, Lu Xiaoran reacted quickly. Using his Physical Enhancement ability, he kicked the car door open with great force. Then he swiftly dodged and leaped out through the open door, landing on the ground beside him.
Seeing that Lu Xiaoran had kicked open the door, Ma Zhibiao also made a quick move and jumped out in the same direction. The leader was right; Lu Xiaoran truly had a second ability.
Ma Zhibiao was astonished. He could tell that Lu Xiaoran's kick had been incredibly powerful, enough to completely send the door flying off. This was clearly not something an ordinary person could achieve.
Ma Zhibiao speculated that Lu Xiaoran's other ability might indeed be Physical Enhancement. However, even though he realized that Lu Xiaoran possessed more than one ability, Ma Zhibiao didn't have time to confront him now. He hovered in mid-air, nervously watching the van that had just rear-ended them.
As they both got out of the car, the van quickly came to a stop not far away.
With the door swinging open, four individuals clad in Hazmat suits rushed out of the vehicle. One of them raised a device resembling a gun and aimed it at Ma Zhibiao in the air, pulling the trigger.
This was not an ordinary gun; it was a Net Gun. Upon pulling the trigger, a Nylon Net shot out from the barrel. As long as the target was within ten meters, the net could envelop them, immobilizing their ability to move.
This type of gun was designed not to kill but to quickly subdue individuals, and it was occasionally used by police when apprehending suspects.
