After continuing the search on site, Yang Yin found the fifth corpse. A large dent was smashed into the chest area, indicating that the heart must have ruptured, likely causing an instant death.
Everyone came over to help carry the Hazmat Suits into the vehicle; it was time to return to the shelter. Yang Yin called out to his three companions nearby, then opened the car door and took his seat in the driver's cabin.
Once back at the shelter, Yang Yin recounted everything they had observed earlier to Zhang Kaiwen in detail. He mentioned that beside Little Ma, there were four unidentified individuals.
Zhang Kaiwen looked at Yang Yin with a puzzled expression and asked him, "What do you mean?"
"Yes, those four were also killed by someone. I took a few photos at the scene; you should take a look," Yang Yin replied, handing his phone to Zhang Kaiwen.
Opening the photo gallery on the phone, Zhang Kaiwen examined the images of the corpses. Aside from Ma Zhibiao, whose head had been blown apart by gunfire, the other four seemed to have suffered violent attacks. They had died instantly after sustaining severe injuries.
Zhang Kaiwen pondered silently about what kind of methods could inflict such damage on those four individuals. Could there be an Ability user involved? He recalled that among the Ability users he had recruited online previously, there were some with Physical Enhancement abilities.
Individuals with such abilities possess physical strength several times greater than that of ordinary people. If an Ability user like that were to strike, it could indeed deform a person's body to such an extent. Could it be Lu Xiaoqian?
Zhang Kaiwen mused quietly to himself. He had previously suspected that besides having immunity to toxic gas, Lu Xiaoran might possess a second Ability. If this second Ability were Physical Enhancement, it was possible that he was responsible for killing those individuals.
As he continued scrolling through the photos on his phone, Zhang Kaiwen noticed another image showing two cars in a collision. The photo depicted a small sedan and a van. It appeared that the sedan had been rear-ended by the van, with its rear half already lifted off the ground.
Both rear wheels had already left the ground, looking as if they could topple down at any moment.
Wasn't that the car that Little Ma and the others drove out this morning?
After carefully enlarging the photo and examining it for a while, Zhang Kaiwen recognized that the small sedan was indeed the one that Ma Zhibiao and Lu Xiaoran had taken earlier today.
As for the van behind it, he had no recollection of it; it clearly wasn't a vehicle from the shelter. If it truly belonged to Lu Xiaoqian, then how could this van be explained?
Zhang Kaiwen silently analyzed in his mind the possible reasons that led to this situation. He hypothesized about what might have happened at that moment. Those four strangers drove this van to crash into Ma Zhibiao's car. After shooting Ma Zhibiao dead, they were then killed by an Ability user who appeared out of nowhere.
