In the research institute, it was time to settle old scores. A flicker of hatred shone in Lu Xiaoran's eyes. After his rebirth, he had been eagerly anticipating the day he could take revenge on the Yiren Research Institute.
Considering the institute's potentially complex background, Lu Xiaoran had chosen to bide his time and remain patient. Now, the moment for revenge had arrived, and he had no reason to hesitate any longer.
Taking a deep breath, Lu Xiaoran strode confidently through the doors of the institute. The people inside were all responsible for placing him on the Dissection Table and subjecting him to inhumane experiments. He was determined not to let a single one of them escape.
To prevent anyone from fleeing, Lu Xiaoran unleashed a torrent of water at the tightly shut iron door using his Water Ability. He then swiftly followed up with his Freezing Ability, turning the water into ice. This effectively sealed off the only entrance and exit.
No longer worried about anyone escaping, Lu Xiaoran felt it would be as easy as shooting fish in a barrel to eliminate the researchers inside. Just as he was spraying water at the door, a middle-aged man in a lab coat happened to walk by.
The man turned his head in surprise and asked with confusion, "Hey, what are you doing? How did you get in here...?"
Before he could finish his sentence, Lu Xiaoran suddenly vanished from sight and appeared right in front of him like a ghost. The middle-aged man was startled and momentarily unable to process what was happening.
With a swift motion, Lu Xiaoran swung his fist and struck the man's chest. His Physical Enhancement Ability had stacked nearly twenty times by now, making this punch incredibly powerful.
The man’s body flew backward and crashed through a wall behind him.
Debris and dust cascaded down from the newly created hole as fragments of stone fell all around.
What... what is happening? What just occurred?
Behind that wall was a laboratory. As the man was punched through it, several individuals inside, holding scalpels, turned their heads to see what had happened.
Upon seeing the large hole in the wall and the middle-aged man flying through it, shock and fear filled the faces of everyone in the lab. The man who had been thrown in landed on the ground, his body severely twisted and deformed, lifeless beyond recovery.
Who killed him?
The researchers in the lab hurriedly set down their scalpels and turned to look outside through the hole in the wall. At that moment, Lu Xiaoran stood there expressionless. At first glance, he appeared to be just an ordinary young man, but these people inexplicably felt an intense sense of pressure emanating from him.
All of them trembled with unease. That kid... he must be an Ability user; that man was likely thrown by him.
One of the researchers quickly grasped the situation and whispered to his companion beside him, "Get the gun from the drawer quickly! If he comes in here, we're done for!"
They hurriedly turned around, trying to retrieve their handguns from the drawer.
