"How much do you want?"
"How much can you sell me, miss?"
"Got it! A person who isn't short on money."
"Do you want some wine? We have five-year aged, and even ten or twenty years old."
"How about some lamb? It has no gamey taste at all, the meat is extremely tender and fragrant."
"Would you like some watermelon? It's an early ripening variety; even the royal palace won't get to taste it for another two months. Mine is guaranteed ripe and sweet."
"Do you need ice? It's already early summer; chilled wine is the most refreshing."
"How about some seasonings? If you need a large quantity, we can't keep up, but we can provide the recipes for the seasonings."
Qi Xiaomian listened as Sang Qingxiao rambled on, considering many details without interrupting her. He felt that she had thought of everything.
Once she finished her enthusiastic pitch, Qi Xiaomian took a silver note from his pocket and handed it to her. "Let's do as Miss Sang suggested. I'll send someone to pick up the goods in the evening. How does that sound?"
Sang Qingxiao took the silver note, her eyes lighting up with a smile at the amount. "If it's not too troublesome, I can get it ready for you right now."
She tossed a wooden token to Misha, instructing him to fetch the goods.
Misha was quick to leave and return, tossing the wooden token back to Qi Xiaomian before sitting down to continue eating.
Qi Xiaomian raised an eyebrow at Sang Qingxiao, puzzled by the exchange.
Sang Qingxiao reached out, her fingernail grazing Qi Xiaomian's thumb, drawing a tiny drop of blood. She then touched that drop to the wooden token, which absorbed it. Suddenly, Qi Xiaomian saw a space within the token.
The Spatial Symbol combined with the Time Symbol allowed for storage and time suspension, valid for one year before the token would shatter. "How about this deal? Buying goods comes with a bonus space token—quite a bargain, wouldn't you say?"
Sang Qingxiao didn't remind Qi Xiaomian to keep the space hidden; he might be even more cautious than she was.
Seeing it was indeed a good deal, Qi Xiaomian tucked away the token and pulled out several larger denomination silver notes. "Miss Sang, could I buy a few more tokens?"
"Why not?"
With thousands of gold pieces coming in, Sang Qingxiao felt great all night long and even let Qi Xiaomian sample a few cups of her treasured Monkey Wine.
"Oh, by the way, there's something I need to tell Miss Sang."
"What is it?" Sang Qingxiao asked with a smile.
"I bought the place next door. It's been noisy these past few days and disturbed your peace. I'll drink a cup as punishment and hope Miss Sang can forgive me."
Heh, another cup of her wine.
I heard that His Majesty assigned you a residence. Right at the foot of the Imperial City, in a prime location, spacious and exquisitely luxurious, surrounded by beautiful companions and many servants. With such a good place, why waste money elsewhere?
However, it’s not really a good residence. With so many people, it’s chaotic and you have to be on guard. There are too many rules, and there are always unrelated visitors dropping by.
Just right, I need a place to settle down in my Warriors' Jingjing City. The Office of Censors is conveniently across the street for work, and meals are guaranteed three times a day. Plus, given my special circumstances, living under the watchful eyes of the young lady would be even better, wouldn’t it?
A whole wall away from a bunch of spies—what could be better than that!
