After preparing three types of fillings—Pork Filling, Shrimp Pork Filling, and Beef Filling—small, plump, and adorable buns were formed. They were placed upside down in a frying pan lightly greased with oil. Once a thin, crispy shell was achieved through frying, hot water was added, and the lid was covered to steam them. Listening closely, the sizzling sound of the pan-fried dumplings could be heard. After that, the lid was removed to sprinkle in some Scallions and sesame seeds before covering it again for a little while longer until they were ready to be served. 0

Eating them hot required some restraint against the enticing aroma. A small bite was taken from the dough to savor the broth inside or poured out to drink. Once the temperature had cooled slightly, they could be dipped in vinegar, chili sauce, or enjoyed plain according to personal preference. 0

In addition to the fresh and fragrant broth, the thick, crispy base was particularly appealing, crunching with each bite and blending the flavors of oil, meat, and dough that made it hard to resist having one after another. Sang Qingxiao would even drizzle some of the fried broth over Cold Noodles, adding a meaty flavor to the otherwise plain noodles and enhancing their taste. 0

The Cold Noodles had just hit the market and received numerous praises; the continuous steaming pots struggled to keep up with customer demand. 0

"One serving of Cold Noodles," Sang Qingxiao called out. 0

When she looked up, she spotted Qi Xiaomian, who had stubble on his face. He rarely dined in Small Tavern but had come alone today, taking a large bowl of Cold Noodles and ten fried buns before finding a secluded corner to sit. 0

Sang Qingxiao pondered for a moment before passing her work over to Li Cu and moved to sit directly across from him. 0

"Is the case difficult to investigate?" 0

Qi Xiaomian countered with a question. "Does it concern you?" 0

Sang Qingxiao felt no anger at his suspicion; Qi Xiaomian was always preparing for his role in the Supervisory Office. If he hadn’t suspected her at all, she would have been disappointed. 0

"What point does Yongxin Marquis refer to?" 0

Qi Xiaomian looked at her for a while before sighing. "His Majesty has been drinking calming soup for several days now." 0

"Oh? Then he needs to build up his courage." 0

Qi Xiaomian added, "He is a good Monarch." 0

Sang Qingxiao agreed. "I know; Great Jing Dynasty needs a good Monarch. If he were to fall that day, I would definitely save him." 0

Their brief exchange established an understanding between them. Qi Xiaomian visibly relaxed as he asked, "Miss Sang, do you have any insights on the Riverbed Corpse Case?" 0

"Perhaps you all are overcomplicating things." 0

"Oh? I would like to hear more." 0

"Is the current investigation still focused on His Majesty's assassination?" 0

"Others are doing so." 0

"Isn't there another way to investigate?" Yongxin Marquis asked. 0

Qi Xiaomian fell silent. He couldn't possibly say in front of the young lady, "Even though I know those seventy-odd lives have nothing to do with you, I still suspect you regarding the elevator incident. I wanted to follow the clues through you to find the real culprit, and even sent a team to investigate you, but they found nothing." 0

That complex silence revealed something to Sang Qingxiao. "Ha! I must say, you are quite clever, yet your progress is so slow. It seems all this time has been spent on me," she teased, making Miss Sang chuckle. 0
