After Ouyang Ye was buried, rumors spread through the martial world that a large number of weapons and forging books were buried with him. Some petty thieves, lured by the prospect of these burial goods, ventured into the tomb, but only one or two returned, missing limbs and barely clinging to life. According to their accounts, the tomb was filled with numerous and formidable traps.
The other members of the Ouyang Family, fully aware that their ancestral tomb was being eyed by outsiders, remained unfazed and showed no concern, indicating their confidence. After that, no one dared to covet the grave any longer.
"Why don't we pursue a bit further and capture Ouyang Jun to lead us inside?" one suggested.
Qi Xiaomian shook his head. "What if he pretends to surrender and then uses the traps to kill us all?"
"Your concerns are valid," another replied. "But why worry so much? I refuse to believe that a mere tomb can truly trap me!"
When they arrived at the tomb, the Qi Family had also hurriedly caught up. The entrance was wide open, yet no one dared to move at first.
Liang Shangshan chuckled. "Qi Hao, you are from the First Family of the Jianghu. In such a critical moment, hiding in the back doesn’t seem right. I'll step aside; why don’t you take the lead?"
Qi Hao remained expressionless. "The Liang Family has always competed with my Qi Family, yet today you choose not to."
Sighing, he reflected on how a younger person had just awakened him from his stupor. Looking back over the years, he realized he didn’t even know what he had been fighting for. Now his mind was in turmoil; once he figured it out, he would decide whether to continue competing with the Qi Family.
"It’s just a trivial dispute among youngsters; there’s no need for the Liang Family to take it seriously," Liang Shangshan said.
"Qi Hao," Liang Shangshan continued, "I’m not particularly clever; I just need to listen and think more."
Seeing Qi Hao still standing motionless, Liang Shangshan added, "Are you hoping to send some juniors ahead to scout for you?"
With just a few words, Liang Shangshan had Qi Hao cornered while claiming he wasn’t clever at all.
Once Qi Hao stepped into the tomb, Liang Shangshan signaled for Qi Xiaomian and their group to follow. The Old Man, being older and more experienced, would bring up the rear for their safety.
Inside the tomb, there was no need for Sang Qingxiao to guide them; clear shoe prints marked the ground. It was evident that their opponents had been overly confident and anxious, neglecting to cover their tracks, which made it easier for everyone to navigate.
Letting the Qi Family take point saved them a lot of trouble; after all, their title wasn’t just for show. Qi Hao managed to disarm most of the traps within the tomb; what remained could be handled by those behind him.
Li Cu expressed confusion. "Liang Family, this doesn’t seem as dangerous as you claimed."
Liang Shangshan pointed at the marks of traps on the walls and then at some remains in a corner. "Ouyang Jun was in such a hurry that he didn’t have time to reset some troublesome traps. Today we’re lucky; if he had reset them all, even if we joined forces, we might not have been able to ensure everyone’s safety."
The deeper they went into the tomb, the more luxurious it became.
Liang Shangshan couldn’t help but exclaim in astonishment. "The Ouyang Family really is wealthy!"
"Come closer, what's wrong, Dad? Are you envious?"
Looking at the ceiling of the tomb, where a fist-sized luminous pearl appeared at intervals, Liang Shangshan shook his head.
"Tsk, old man, your eyes look like they're about to pop out! Envy, jealousy, and hatred are clearly written all over your face."
Liang Shangshan shook his head again, knowing he wasn't blessed enough for such things and fearing that thieves might take notice.
