"He taught me some techniques that could help identify things if he uses them. But if he doesn't use what he taught me, finding him would be quite difficult."
The mirror where the Mirror Demon resides is different from a normal reflective surface. The chances of locating it using conventional methods are slim, as there are too many mirrors in the city, and he can easily shift through them.
