"Are you all planning to rebel?"
Outside the door, a confrontation was taking place. The palace doors were wide open, and the emperor, his face flushed with anger, shouted, startling the troublemakers into silence.
At that moment, only the Empress Dowager dared to speak. "Your Majesty, are you alright?"

Once he was inside his chambers, he summoned Cai Zhuo and Qi Xiaomian while leaving the Dragon Guard outside for protection.
Cai Zhuo had been watching him closely; once the door closed, the emperor let down his guard.

"Disrespectful? Are you afraid?" Ze laughed. "Shi Yun, your performance outside just now showed no sign of discomfort at all; your control was perfect and your presence commanding enough to intimidate them. We should be able to enjoy some peace for a while now."
