Jian Youming glared at Liu Zeran with a dark expression before plopping down on the sofa, pulling Wang Xue, whose face was as pale as paper, into his arms. "It's okay, Xue Xue. It's all going to be fine." 0

Wang Xue leaned against him in silence, her nose slightly red as she quietly asked, "Why did you come here?" 0

Jian Youming scratched his head. "I just couldn't shake off my worries..." 0

Liu Zeran sighed and sincerely apologized to Wang Xue. "I really didn't expect things to turn out this way. I'm truly sorry." 0

"It's alright," Wang Xue said softly, lowering her head. "This scar is indeed ugly; anyone would hate it. I've gotten used to being told that since I was a child. It really doesn't matter." 0

Jian Youming suddenly raised his voice, "Who says everyone hates it?! I don't hate it!" 0

"You don't hate me?" Wang Xue's lips curled up slightly, tinged with self-deprecation. "If you didn’t hate me, why would you let this scar stay on my face forever? I think the person who hates me the most is you." 0

Liu Zeran let out a gentle sigh, a hint of sadness in his eyes. "Xiao Xue, you really have no taste." 0

Wang Xue shot him a resentful glance, thinking that today’s events were entirely Liu Zeran's doing. Not only did he fail to offer sincere comfort, but now he was making snide remarks. 0

Liu Zeran sighed again and pointed at himself, interrupting her thoughts. "What kind of person do you think I am?" 0

"Well, even though you're annoying today, overall you're pretty good—humorous and charming. The girl who marries you will be lucky..." Wang Xue muttered under her breath, speaking her mind. 0

"Really lacking in taste." 0

Jian Youming interjected, "Xue Xue, the girl who marries him will be in for a tough time." His gaze drifted toward the flashy young men dancing in the club. 0

Wang Xue followed his line of sight and took a moment to process what she saw, nearly gasping in surprise. 0

"How is that possible? That guy in the tight jeans just now, is your..." As she thought about it carefully, she realized his malicious expression looked like jealousy. 0

Liu Zeran sighed again, "Ex-husband." 0

"I never bring girls here, but that doesn't mean I don't bring anyone. The reason they're surprised is simply because you're a woman, do you understand, Wang Xue?" Liu Zeran stated bluntly. 0

Wang Xue's mouth fell open in shock, staring blankly. Jian Youming looked at Wang Xue with gentle eyes, but suddenly shifted his gaze to the idle Liu Zeran. 0

"Alright, stop looking at me with that disdainful expression. I'll leave; I won't interrupt your romantic talk." 0

Liu Zeran seemed to understand Jian Youming well and saw right through his thoughts. He raised his hands in surrender and, before leaving, downed the drink he had ordered. 0

"Wait!" Wang Xue suddenly lifted her head and grabbed Liu Zeran's shirt hem. 0

Liu Zeran looked down at her and saw her cheeks flushed. Hesitantly, she asked, "Can I ask you one more question?" 0

Liu Zeran smiled slightly, "Go ahead." 0

"Then you and Jian Youming..." 0

"I once wrote him a love letter," Liu Zeran confessed candidly. 0

"So... do you still have feelings for Jian..." Reflecting on Liu Zeran's shy and distracted expressions earlier, Wang Xue finally understood that they weren't just for his sister's sake; they were his own feelings! 0

A faint smile lingered on Liu Zeran's face as he gently moved Wang Xue's hand away. 0

"That's the second question." He stood against the light, his figure enveloped in shadow, and his eyes seemed to be shrouded in a misty haze. 0

By the time Wang Xue regained her senses from Liu Zeran's somewhat melancholic expression, he had already disappeared for quite some time. 0

The bar had unknowingly turned off its dim, enchanting neon lights and switched on bright incandescent bulbs. Wang Xue squinted slightly, instinctively using her hair to cover the scarred side of her face, not wanting to be seen by others. 0

However, this subtle movement did not escape Jian Youming's notice. He gazed at Wang Xue's calm expression and the faint hint of self-mockery and sorrow hidden deep in her eyes, feeling both regret and heartache. 0

The lights in the bar quickly dimmed again, replaced by the soothing melodies of a slow song, while the rotating colored lights emitted an ambiguous glow. 0

Jian Youming leaned closer to Wang Xue, and at some point, he had brought over a few bottles of beer, placing them in front of them. 0

"Want to have a drink?" 0

He lowered his gaze and popped open a bottle with a crisp sound. 0

"I don't regret it..." Wang Xue giggled foolishly, the alcohol making her feel tingly all over. Unconsciously, she raised her hand to scratch an itch but ended up pressing it against his chest halfway through. 0

Jian Youming slowly unbuttoned Wang Xue's shirt. She obediently allowed him to do so, occasionally lifting her hands to assist him while mumbling, "You don't mind me, do you? My face is ruined... You really don't mind?" 0

Jian Youming gently kissed the corner of Wang Xue's mouth and lifted his head to gaze into her eyes. Despite the intense desire in his gaze, there was still a glimmer of determination. 0

"Xue Xue, your face was injured because of me. I feel guilty, and I will take responsibility." 0

"Moreover, what’s most important is that you should know how deep my feelings for you are." 0
