Hearing the voice emanating from the coffin, he felt a chill run down his spine. He bent down and removed the red rope that bound it.
The moment the rope was taken away, the coffin lid was blasted open by a tremendous force, flying directly towards Jiang Chen. Jiang Chen dodged, and the coffin lid crashed into an abandoned mine pit, floating on the water's surface.
As the lid flew up, everyone present craned their necks to peer into the coffin. After all, this was Li Hai Feng's final trump card, shrouded in mystery. Even though Liu Xifang and the others were frightened, their curiosity got the better of them.
However, upon seeing inside, Liu Xifang and the others were so terrified that their souls nearly left their bodies. Feng Laowu, standing nearby, turned to look and stumbled back in fright, tripping over a stone and falling into the rain, abandoning his umbrella.
Inside the coffin was a pool of blood that resembled jelly, encasing a tall and grotesque zombie with green skin and sharp fangs. The zombie held an axe that was one meter long; its blade gleamed sharply, while one side of the axe was engraved with celestial bodies and the other with mountains and rivers.
Jiang Chen's eyes lit up at the sight of the axe. Wasn't this one of the legendary Seven Divine Artifacts—the The Heaven-Cleaving Axe?
Jiang Chen felt a surge of excitement. Had he known that the The Heaven-Cleaving Axe was hidden within the Corpse Refining Clan, he would have come much sooner.
Li Hai Feng initially wanted to say something but quickly suppressed his smug expression upon seeing Jiang Chen's ecstatic demeanor.
"What are you laughing at?" Li Hai Feng asked.
"Your zombie may not be The Body of the General, but that axe is quite impressive. I'll take it," Jiang Chen replied with a grin.
"You think you can just take it? That depends on whether you have the ability," Li Hai Feng sneered. At this point, Jiang Chen still appeared unafraid, which Li Hai Feng found unacceptable.
"I've already said it; you're not my opponent," Jiang Chen stated calmly.
This zombie was indeed not The Body of the General but an ancient and powerful Blood Corpse from at least a thousand years ago. Although it wasn't The Body of the General, it did not disappoint Jiang Chen.
Jiang Chen wanted The Body of the General not out of a fondness for zombies but to refine it into a spirit to protect Hua Guang Mountain Villa. It didn't matter if it wasn't The Body of the General; it would suffice for his purposes.
"You should defeat Jiang Zhan first," Li Hai Feng said with a cold smile before slicing his finger to use his own blood to unseal the Blood Corpse.
As Li Hai Feng's blood touched the jelly-like blood inside the coffin, those coagulated droplets instantly melted away. With a splashing sound, they flowed onto the ground, mixing with rainwater and dyeing an area ten meters around the coffin bright red.
The Blood Corpse within the blood grinned menacingly, green gas wafting from its mouth. Its skin was bloody and raw, resembling someone who had been flayed alive. Grasping the The Heaven-Cleaving Axe, it emerged from the coffin with somewhat clumsy movements.
"Hiss!" The Blood Corpse stepped out of the coffin and scanned its surroundings with hollow eyes before leaping lightly in front of Feng Laowu.
Feng Laowu trembled in fear, scrambling to escape. However, the Blood Corpse reached out and lifted him effortlessly before sinking its teeth into his neck. In an instant, Feng Laowu's body visibly shriveled up.
