"Even if we need to save someone, it should be me leading the rescue." 0

"You must be the highest authority here, right?" 0

"I’m the squad leader." 0

"Squad leader, you have rich experience, and we need you to hold the line. Students will come to provide support and replacements soon, and we will need your command and coordination. You absolutely cannot leave! And rest assured, I have wood-based abilities that allow me to conceal my presence and aura in the jungle." 0

"Even so, sending a few students into the beast horde to rescue someone seems too dangerous." 0

Lin Yao understood his concerns and asked, "Do you know Instructor Xie Zhuo?" 0

"I do." 0

"I can match him evenly right now." 0

The squad leader suddenly realized, "You’re Lin Yao?" 0

"I’ve heard of you," he replied. 0

"Oh, that guy Xie Zhuo—your Instructor Xie Zhuo mentioned you. He said you are the most talented student he has ever taught in combat." 0

"Since that’s the case, I should be able to lead the rescue without any issues." 0

"But—" 0

"Squad leader, saving lives is a priority." 0

"Then I’ll call in someone with reconnaissance abilities to assist you." 0

"Everyone here has speed-based abilities," she said. 0

"For the purpose of rescuing someone, speed is certainly of the essence." 0

"He has both reconnaissance and speed abilities; he won’t slow you down." 0

The squad leader understood Lin Yao's intention and immediately called over a soldier. "You go with her to rescue people from the beast horde. Just remember to listen to her instructions when the time comes." 0

Lin Yao emphasized, "Remember, listen to me when the time comes." 0

The squad leader instructed the soldier. 0

The soldier glanced at Lin Yao and nodded seriously. 0

"For convenience, I just assigned everyone numbers. Officer, can I call you Zero?" 0

"That works!" 0

"Then let’s move out." 0

Finding a densely wooded area, Lin Yao activated her wood-based ability to conceal herself and led the group into the beast horde. 0

"Zero, scan the area for any survivors," Lin Yao commanded. 0

The soldier immediately activated his ability and, after a moment, pointed in a direction. Lin Yao waved her hand, and Zero led the way as everyone moved swiftly forward. 0

Two minutes later, their team of eleven spotted a trembling student in a tree. Lin Yao used vines to bring the person down. "Is there anyone else nearby?" 0

"There’s an officer who drew the beasts away to save me. You have to help him!" the student exclaimed. 0

Lin Yao glanced at Zero, who quickly turned pale and activated his scanning ability again. Soon, they had a result. 0

Lin Yao instructed one of the speed-enhanced individuals to carry the student, and the group followed Zero to search for the next person. Unfortunately, the individual Zero found was not the officer mentioned by the student but another injured student. 0

This student had earth-based abilities and had buried himself underground. If it weren’t for Lin Yao’s wood-based ability to detect him, they might have thought Zero's sensing was faulty. 0

They took this student with them and set off again. In this manner, they found four or five more people, none of whom were the officer. 0

The distraught student cried out, "Wuwu, what if that officer is in trouble? It’s all my fault! If it weren't for me, he wouldn’t—" 0

"Shut up!" Lin Yao interrupted him and continued to have Zero scan again. 0

Zero quickly pinpointed another location, and the group set off once more. This time, they could hear sounds of battle from a distance. When they arrived, they saw a tiger-shaped beast attacking a soldier. 0

The soldier was covered in blood, one arm broken, yet he fiercely protected several students behind him. At that moment, it was uncertain whether to feel relieved that they were facing a tiger-shaped beast amidst the beast tide. 0

After all, while tiger-shaped beasts were powerful fighters, they had strong territorial instincts and wouldn’t allow other beasts to touch their prey even during a beast tide. Otherwise, this soldier protecting several injured students might not have been able to withstand the siege of beasts until help arrived. 0

"Save him!" Lin Yao shouted. 0

With lightning speed, she unleashed her vines to bind the tiger-shaped beast and then concentrated her mental energy to form a mental spike that she thrust directly into the beast's brain. 0

The mental strength of beasts was significantly weaker than that of humans; with one strike from Lin Yao's mental spike, the tiger-shaped beast let out a whimper before collapsing. 0

Lin Yao rushed forward two steps and plunged her sword into its throat. Just before the beast breathed its last and blood began to flow out, she swiftly stored it in her system space. 0

With a swift and fluid motion, Lin Yao executed her actions as quickly as the wind. Before the rescue operation was even completed, she had already slain the beast. Time was of the essence! The commotion here was significant, and once the pressure from the tiger-shaped beast dissipated, other creatures would soon arrive. 0

There were thirteen people in total: the six who had appeared earlier, plus another six, and one severely injured individual. This slightly exceeded Lin Yao's initial plan to rescue around ten people before retreating. However, there was no time to dwell on it; they needed to get these individuals to safety first. 0

With her speed ability at levels three and four, she could carry at most one person. If they took on too many, they wouldn’t be able to run. Each of the ten students with speed abilities would take one person. The individual with Zero Ability could handle two. For the remaining severely injured person, Lin Yao fashioned a stretcher out of vines and used her powers to carry them along. 0

This would take a toll on her abilities and wouldn't allow for sustained combat, but there was no other option at the moment. After a challenging journey, they finally reached the defensive line. Tang Zhige organized their waiting movement and quickly took charge of getting the injured to the logistics department for treatment. 0

When their class leader saw them return safely with over ten rescued individuals, he was so pleased that he didn’t know what to say; he could only pat their shoulders in appreciation. Compared to his lack of eloquence, the other students were much more enthusiastic. If it weren’t for discipline regulations, they might have erupted in celebration. 0

“Was the journey smooth?” Yao Beiluo asked. 0
“Yeah. Have my teammates arrived?” 0
“They're all here. Bai Zhenzhen from the pharmacy team taught them how to prepare potions.” 0
“Let me see.” 0

Upon seeing Lin Yao, Bai Zhenzhen rushed over joyfully and hugged her. 0
“How did you end up running into the beast tide area to save people? I was so worried!” 0
“It’s fine; I made it back safely, didn’t I? How about you? Did you teach them all about those potions?” 0
“The potions from our shop may not be as effective, but they’re sufficient for these students. Plus, they're inexpensive and easy to prepare—perfect as emergency supplies.” 0
“Don’t even get me started! You left me with instructions to teach them how to make those potions and then ran off to save people! You really don’t care about our shop’s future at all! If I hadn’t been clever enough to tell them that this is essential for our shop's survival and that we’re not planning to disclose the formulas just yet, they might have shared it with others carelessly. Besides, once they learn how to prepare the potions, we can temporarily help sell them for free.” 0
