"Now it's your turn. What's your name?"
Qi Xiao paused for a moment, his smile growing even brighter. "I am Wang Mazi."
Lu Yuan was taken aback for a second, quickly adding, "I am Li Dajiao."
Bai Ruoshu was so furious that his eyes seemed to blaze with fire as he pointed at the two of them, cursing loudly. "Do you think I'm a fool? You dare to say such ridiculous fake names?"
Qi Xiao let out a surprised sound and muttered, "Looks like you're not that foolish after all."
"Alright then, actually I am Wang Zima."
"Um, I am actually Li Jiao Da."
As soon as these words were spoken, several snickers erupted nearby.
Bai Ruoshu was on the verge of fainting from anger! These two were simply too much.
Grinding his teeth, he stepped forward, a powerful surge of spiritual energy igniting around him. He charged directly in front of Qi Xiao and Lu Yuan, raising a palm with a chilling killing intent.
Seeing the situation escalate, Lu Yuan activated his protective spiritual energy, crossing his arms defensively in front of his chest, trying to withstand the blow.
However, Bai Ruoshu's spiritual energy shield was too thick; even with Lu Yuan's full effort, he could only manage to hold his ground against it.
At that moment of stalemate, a foot suddenly extended out and kicked Bai Ruoshu along with his entire spiritual shield away.
With a loud bang, the young man was sent tumbling through the air, wrapped in the spiritual shield like a ball. He rolled for some distance before the energy dissipated, and he clumsily got back up from the ground.
For a moment, the scene fell silent.
"You little sneak! How dare you ambush me? Truly shameless!"
If it weren't for him putting all his strength into confronting the other person, how could he have been so easily kicked away?
Qi Xiao peeked out from behind with an innocent expression. "Ambush? I'm being completely straightforward here! If you didn't want to be kicked, you could have dodged!"
Hearing this, Bai Ruoshu nearly had blood rushing back up in anger. Did he not want to dodge?
He was fully engaged in a standoff with that person; if either of them relaxed their guard even slightly, they could be sent flying by the other.
Otherwise, how could this shameless person have seized the opportunity to kick him?
Gripping the shattered protective jade pendant at his waist, his expression twisted in frustration.
He was merely at the mid-stage of Foundation Building; being able to stand against the other largely depended on this jade pendant. Now not only had he failed to teach those two a lesson, but he had also broken this pendant.
Bai Ruoshu's fingertips trembled, her heart aching as if it were bleeding.
Fu noticed this scene and hurried over. "Ruoshu, are you okay?"
Bai Ruoshu, feeling irritated, swatted his hand away. "Don't touch me! Stop pretending to be kind-hearted. If you really cared about me, you should have helped me just now!"
Fu was also angry. "I told you not to bid, but you didn't listen. After you bought the item, you came to vent your anger on them. You couldn't win the fight and ended up taking it out on me. Do you really think you're some precious young master?"
Upon hearing this, Bai Ruoshu's face turned pale. Although she was the young lady of the Bai family, she knew well enough that she was merely a love child left behind after a night of indulgence.
Fu looked at her coldly. "If it weren't for the elders' warnings, I wouldn't bother with you. Take care of yourself."
With that, he turned and left, not casting another glance at Bai Ruoshu.
Bai Ruoshu stood frozen in place, her face ashen. After a long while, she glared angrily at the onlookers around her before turning to leave.
What she didn't realize was that after she departed, a few figures followed closely behind her.
Qi Xiao exchanged a glance with Lu Yuan, who nodded knowingly; the two quietly trailed after her.
"What do you want?"
Seeing several unfriendly cultivators closing in on her, Cheng Yurong felt a tightening in her chest and stepped in front of the White Tiger protectively. She placed her hands on her hips and lifted her chin defiantly. "Let me tell you, I am the young lady of the Cheng family! If you know what's good for you, let me go quickly; otherwise, none of you will have a good ending!"
Upon hearing this, everyone was momentarily stunned before bursting into laughter.
"Big brother, this girl thinks she can fool us!"
"You may be the Cheng family's young lady, but this wanted notice was issued by your own family!"
Ever since Cheng Hai had tracked down the three through the time-space mirror, he had instructed an artist to sketch their likenesses and contacted nearby cities to have them apprehended.
Cheng Yurong's presence with four tigers was far too conspicuous; even though she tried to take back alleys and disguise herself, she was recognized at first sight.
Cheng Yurong froze for a moment, her face paling slightly. "What?"
She hadn't expected that the Cheng family would discover this matter so quickly. Her legs weakened involuntarily as she took a step back.
Just as Cheng Yurong was about to turn and flee, a glowing hemp rope seemed to gain a mind of its own and wrapped around her neck. The other end of the rope was held tightly by the leading cultivator, who let out a sinister laugh and pulled harder.
The girl grimaced in pain, her eyes rolling back as she struggled against the rope, but she was still dragged back little by little. Seeing this, the white tiger's eyes turned cold, and it lunged forward, its claws tearing into the cultivator holding the rope, leaving him bloodied and battered.
The cultivator stumbled away in panic, one of his ears torn off by the tiger's sharp claws. He clutched his wound, crying out in agony.
"Quickly, Elders!" Several others were startled and raised their weapons to block the white tiger while retreating. One person quietly slipped away to send a message.
The white tiger, feeling anxious, wanted to pursue and kill the fleeing man but was blocked by a barrage of attacks. It roared in pain, forced to turn around and deal with the group of attackers first.
In no time, several cultivators lay on the ground, their breaths extinguished. The messenger returned and was horrified by the scene, collapsing in fear.
Behind him, several elderly figures in black robes were enraged at what they saw. They gathered their spiritual power and charged forward.
"Beasts! How dare you harm our Li family members! I will teach you a lesson!"
Under the assault of several golden elders, the white tiger struggled to evade while retreating. It was clear that it was trying to protect its three cubs and the unconscious girl. One elder gathered all his spiritual energy and aimed a strike at one of the cubs.
Seeing this, the white tiger widened its eyes and let out an angry roar before leaping forward with all its might to shield them.
In an instant, blood splattered everywhere as cries of anguish filled the air. A deep gash appeared on the white tiger's abdomen, nearly piercing through it. It staggered a few steps before collapsing in front of the girl and her cubs.
The golden elders landed gracefully, observing the scene with laughter.
"Beasts are indeed foolish creatures! To sacrifice their own lives for these burdens is utterly ridiculous! Since that’s the case, I’ll send you on your way!"
Just as one elder prepared to strike, another stopped him.
"They are people from the Cheng family in Baisha City; we cannot take their lives just yet."
The first elder huffed in frustration, shaking his hand dismissively. "Fine! Let them live a little longer!"
