By the time the police car arrived, there were already two people inside. When we approached, one was in the hospital corridor and the other in the supermarket restroom, which didn’t seem to cause much disruption. After Lin Yuan got in, the other officers spoke among themselves. Their faces showed a hint of relief; no casualties was certainly the best outcome.
However, Lin Yuan did not share their sentiment. The fact that they had found their own spots indicated that these individuals held low positions within the Red Blood organization and lacked vigilance. Lin Yuan had suspected this ever since he saw the location, but at least they had managed to capture someone now.
Upon arriving at the police station, Officer Qi Wang verified his identity information, which matched his identification card closely.
“How did you know the addresses of these Red Blood members?” Upon seeing someone actually brought before him, Bai Ling couldn’t help but feel curious.
“Didn’t Team Zhang tell you? Bai Qiushui came from Jing City specifically to find me,” Lin Yuan replied casually as he removed his delivery uniform and took a sip of water in the office.
“It seems like you all share the surname Bai?” Lin Yuan looked at Bai Ling, wondering if they were related.
Bai Ling shook her head. “I have no connection to Jing City; I don’t know Bai Qiushui personally, but I’ve heard that his parents are quite impressive.”
“However, I didn’t expect Team Zhang’s surprise to be this significant; it’s quite remarkable that you can do this,” she added, a hint of skepticism in her eyes.
It was strange for someone like Lin Yuan to suddenly emerge from Haishi without any background in military school or much formal education at all. “Is there really such a person in this world?” she wondered aloud. “Lin Yuan, you’re not some kind of spy sent here, are you?”
Lin Yuan knew that his abilities would surely raise suspicions, but he didn’t have time to explain everything. Instead, he joked lightly, “Just consider me exceptionally gifted; I was born to deal with people like them.”
So far, everything Lin Yuan had done had positively impacted public safety, so Bai Ling chose not to press further. It was as if she couldn’t understand why Lin Yuan had immediately concluded that Haishi concealed a mastermind familiar with various criminal methods.
Ultimately, they still maintained a layer of caution towards him.
“What about that kid? Twenty-one years old?” Lin Yuan shifted the topic.
Bai Ling clearly had some impression of the person named Qi Wang. “Coincidentally, he’s just graduated not long ago.”
As for the reason he was wanted, he had been too idle at home, playing games, and after being scolded by his parents a few times, he finally acted out. Bai Ling nodded. On the surface, he seemed normal, but in reality, he suffered from severe bipolar disorder and would resort to violence at the slightest provocation. Furthermore, Qi Wang attended a prestigious university, not just any ordinary school, which held significant prestige in the country. Graduating from such an institution meant that one was undoubtedly talented.
So, was it a major reason why Hong Xue sought him out? Bai Ling believed so. The personnel structure of the Hong Xue organization was quite complex; they did not operate as a single unit but rather acted independently. This led to a lack of discipline within the organization. However, there was a threshold: the higher up one went in Hong Xue, the stricter the discipline became. The two sides represented extremes.
Lin Yuan understood what he meant. So they wanted to recruit some highly educated individuals to cultivate high-IQ criminals? For a criminal organization like this, having more intelligent people would certainly be beneficial if they wanted to rise in power. However, managing these smart individuals was no easy task. Clearly, the other side had only completed the basics.
Moreover, this Hong Xue had connections with other drug trafficking organizations as well. If their core members were discovered by the police, they either escaped death and continued serving them or took matters into their own hands—like that person who died in the hospital. It seemed that there wasn’t much more information to extract from the few individuals they had captured.
Bai Ling smiled and said, "At least capturing them shows you’re not a soft target, right? Can't we find out about other members of Hong Xue from these people?" He raised his doubts. The networks between provinces should differ; he suspected someone was creating these URLs for them, but it was impossible to confirm anything from those few phones yet.
Lin Yuan had tried as well but found it indeed impossible. After all, he couldn't just conjure up a URL out of thin air, could he?
When the news of the arrests in the Sea City reached Qing She, there was little surprise on his face. This information had come from Fang, serving as a reminder.
"Boss, if our people go to Sea City again, it’s likely to cause some trouble," one of his subordinates said cautiously, glancing at him.
Half of the upper echelon of the Red Blood organization were not low-level fugitives, but their hands were stained with blood. Those who joined Red Blood were not foolish.
"I asked over at the Masked side. As long as one person's online presence is exposed, the hiding places of the others will be compromised too," Qing She replied coolly.
He understood the implication behind those words.
"Then let’s temporarily refrain from dealing with Lin Yuan. After all, Sea City was never our territory to begin with. If Fang likes it, he can have it."
Aside from that woman, they had all dealt with Lin Yuan before but had gained nothing from it. When things go awry, it's best to cut losses; if someone else can handle it, there’s no need for them to intervene personally.
"What if something really happens to Fang? Wouldn’t we be finished too?" The subordinate spoke carefully, watching Qing She’s expression.
Qing She raised his gaze. "Do you think I’ve spent so long building this organization just to surround myself with useless people?"
If things truly went south, he had a few contacts abroad who would gladly extend an olive branch. He stayed here mainly because he favored this environment.
The subordinate understood that their relationship with Fang was merely a partnership and felt somewhat reassured knowing they had an escape route.
However, Qing She’s mood was far from good. A mere Lin Yuan had thrown them into disarray in such a short time and made them consider future implications.
This was all because they harbored a significant secret. That criminal organization would not stand on their side.
But it didn’t matter; even if something went wrong later on, did Lin Yuan really think he could keep that secret safe?
