Ran Qiuyue was delighted to see Yan Bugui. "Teacher Yan, you live in this courtyard? That's wonderful! I'm here for a home visit. Jia Geng lives here, right?"
Noticing Yan Bugui's injured foot, Ran Qiuyue asked with concern, "I heard you hurt your foot and took leave. Is it still serious?"
"Oh, my foot is fine! Thank you for your concern, Teacher Ran!" Yan Bugui replied cheerfully.
"Yes! Bang Geng lives in the middle courtyard. Let me show you the way!" Yan Bugui warmly welcomed Ran Qiuyue inside and led her along.
Standing at the door, Sha Zhu had yet to enter. He was watching as Yan Bugui brought a beautiful girl inside, and his gaze began to heat up with interest.
Ran Qiuyue felt the intensity of his stare and turned to see a scruffy-looking man looking at her. His gaze made her feel extremely uncomfortable. She glanced at Sha Zhu but didn’t want to look at him any longer. When Sha Zhu noticed Ran Qiuyue looking his way, he confidently ran his fingers through his hair and struck a handsome pose, unaware that she hadn’t even noticed his attempts to impress her.
"Bang Geng, your teacher is here for a home visit!" Yan Bugui called out as they reached Bang Bang's door before turning to leave.
Hearing the voice, Qin Huairu came out. "Teacher Ran!"
Ran Qiuyue recognized Qin Huairu and returned the greeting, "Hello, Bang Geng's mother!"
After welcoming Ran Qiuyue inside, Qin Huairu poured her a glass of water. "Teacher Ran, have some water. Bang Geng went out to play; I'll have his sister call him back."
Ran Qiuyue stopped her. "No need to call him back, Jia Geng is already here. I'm here to ask about your plans for Bang Geng since he didn't pass the entrance exam for junior high this year. Are you planning to have him repeat fifth grade and try again next year, or will he stop studying altogether?"
Upon hearing this, Jia Zhangshi sat up on the bed. "Why stop studying? My dear grandson will definitely go to college in the future! Just because he didn't pass this year doesn't mean he can't do it next year!"
Ran Qiuyue glanced at Qin Huairu, who nodded in agreement. "We will continue studying! Thank you for your help, Teacher Ran!"
"It's no trouble at all. Since Jia Geng has decided to repeat fifth grade, please make sure to pay the tuition fees," Ran Qiuyue said.
"Teacher Ran, our family is currently facing some difficulties. Could we wait until Bang Geng starts school before paying the tuition?" Qin Huairu feigned distress in front of Ran Qiuyue.
Having taught for many years, Ran Qiuyue had seen students delay their tuition payments for an entire semester. Since Bang Geng only mentioned paying at the start of school, she didn’t press further.
After chatting for a bit longer, she left. Sha Zhu was still standing at the door watching as the girl rode away on her bicycle. As Qin Huairu saw off Ran Qiuyue and noticed Sha Zhu gazing after her with such infatuation, she couldn’t help but scoff quietly before returning inside.
She wasn’t worried at all about Sha Zhu being interested in Ran Qiuyue; she knew that Ran Qiuyue would never look at someone like him.
