Wang Ren saw Captain Jiang bringing the child, Si Geng, and she looked around at everyone with a serious tone. "Don't think that just because Si Geng hasn't been caught, you can learn from him. "Wait! Wang Ren, I have a question. Since the Jia family is so wealthy, shouldn't they return the money everyone donated to them?" Yi Zhonghai glared at the speaker. Hearing their demands, Wang Ren could no longer contain her anger. "Yi Zhonghai, tell me! Did you really organize donations for the Jia family?"

"Yes, I did organize donations for the Jia family," Yi Zhonghai began to defend himself. "That was because they came to me saying they were in dire straits and couldn't get by anymore. Seeing Yi Zhonghai still trying to argue his case filled Wang Ren with disappointment. She regretted allowing such a person to manage affairs in the courtyard in the first place. Who knew how many things he had done under this guise of authority that she was unaware of?
Fortunately, she had already removed him from his position! No, she needed to investigate other courtyards and see if other managers were like Yi Zhonghai and had done things she didn't know about!
"Yi Zhonghai, stop making excuses! As a former manager, don't you know that organizing donations requires reporting and approval from the street office? If the Jia family was truly in need, our street office would have assessed their situation and provided assistance without needing you to organize donations!"
"It's getting late today. Tomorrow after work, I will come back to your courtyard personally and supervise you as you return the donations!"
Upon hearing that they were supposed to return the money, Yi Zhonghai panicked. "Wang Ren, those donations have already gone to the Jia family! What am I supposed to use to pay everyone back?"
Qin Huairu also cried out in distress. "Yes, Wang Ren! Our family used to be well-off, but as you've seen, now we have nothing left because Si Geng took all our money! We truly can't pay everyone back!"
"Wang Ren, we don't have a single cent left now. Please help us; otherwise, we really won't be able to survive!"
Wang Ren was momentarily speechless by Qin Huairu's plea. Goodness! Their family hadn't even returned those fraudulent donations yet and now they were crying for help again? She had never seen such shameless people!
