"Miss Chi Er, why not have some fun with us? After all, Young Master Lei doesn't want you anymore. You might as well serve us; perhaps you could even become a third or fourth mistress," a few wealthy young men jeered at Chi Qiyun in the bar.
The bartender quietly wiped glasses nearby, pretending not to notice the situation. He had worked in this bar for a long time and had seen too many scenes like this. He knew well that these rich kids were not to be offended. Moreover, upon hearing them refer to the woman as Miss Chi Er, he dared not intervene, fearing he would only make things worse. Other men around also cast lewd glances in their direction, seemingly waiting for a show.
"Did you not hear me? I said get lost!" Chi Qiyun bit her lip and shouted angrily.
One of them tried to reach out and touch her, but she sidestepped away.
Just as she stood up to leave, another grabbed her wrist. "Miss Chi Er, don’t go! Aren’t you here to drink?"
"Yeah, after drinking, don’t you want to have some fun with a man? Or do you still want to crawl into Young Master Lei's bed?" they taunted. "Why not please us first before looking for Young Master Lei?"
Their crude words became increasingly unbearable.
Chi Qiyun raised her hand, intending to slap one of them, but another seized her wrist again. Now both of her hands were trapped, unable to move.
As the situation grew more chaotic and lewd, a cold female voice rang out from behind them. "You boys are quite bold; it seems like you've mistaken yourselves for something special."
The men turned their heads toward the source of the voice.
Chi Qiyun was momentarily stunned and looked over as well.
There stood a woman in a black long dress, her figure alluring, and her high heels seemed to tread on everyone's hearts with each step she took. She moved gracefully like a lotus flower.
Her eyes were similar to Chi Qiyun's but held a sharper intensity.
"Who are you?" one of the men asked, his words trailing off as he took in her appearance.
Before he could finish his sentence, a resounding slap echoed as she struck him across the face.
"Ah! So you're just a toad—tough-skinned and thick-fleshed. My hand hurts from hitting you!" Ling Yun smiled slightly, gently rubbing her palm.
"Watch your mouth," she said.
Before another man could get a word out, Ling Yun kicked him to the ground. He howled in pain, unable to rise.
The two men holding onto Chi Qiyun's hands exchanged glances, contemplating escape. This woman was not to be trifled with; her skills spoke of a ruthless and vicious nature.
Could they run? They begged for mercy, hoping to avoid a beating—this deal was too good to pass up.
As the woman spoke, several tall men in black suddenly appeared, blocking the path of the two would-be fugitives.
"Please spare us! I'm sorry! I was wrong!" they pleaded, their bravado crumbling quickly.
Ling Yun let out a cold snort, not even glancing at the men kneeling on the ground begging for mercy. Instead, she walked straight towards Chi Qiyun.
"Miss Chi, are you alright?"
Ling Yun's seductive gaze had turned sharp, revealing a fierceness that made Chi Qiyun momentarily lose her composure. She simply shook her head in response.
"You are...?"
"Ling Yun," she replied, a smile dancing in her eyes, yet her aura made Chi Qiyun hesitate to move.
Her hair was disheveled.
Ling Yun reached out and gently tucked a few stray strands behind Chi Qiyun's ear. With her ear exposed, she looked even more beautiful.
Chi Qiyun dared not breathe too loudly. As Ling Yun moved closer, she caught a whiff of an exquisite perfume that lingered around her—subtle and reminiscent of thorny flowers.
This was the first time Chi Qiyun had encountered a woman so stunningly beautiful, someone who resembled herself yet radiated an entirely different charm.
Noticing Chi Qiyun's gaze fixed on her face, Ling Yun chuckled lightly. "Do you think I'm pretty?"
Flustered, Chi Qiyun quickly turned away, feeling embarrassed as she mumbled an affirmative response.
Why did it feel like there was an underlying tension between them from the very first moment?
