Su Chen glanced around and noticed that aside from a few onlookers, there were several individuals standing at the front, exuding an air of authority that kept others at bay. Among them was Tang Chen, the President of the Spirit Warrior Guild.
At that moment, he was engaged in a lively conversation with a red-haired man sporting an afro and a bushy beard.
"Haha! You little rascal, I knew I wasn't mistaken about you!"
Just then, the red-haired man, Yi Nan Zi, walked directly up to Su Chen and patted him on the shoulder in a familiar manner.
Su Chen wanted to ask him: "Who are you, buddy? Do we know each other?"
"This is Xiao Yan, the leader of the Yan Alliance," Tang Chen introduced.
Upon hearing this, Su Chen suddenly realized and quickly cupped his hands in greeting. "Greetings, Senior Xiao! I've long admired your name."
Su Chen understood that in the Great Xia Dynasty, aside from the Spirit Warrior Guild, there were other powerful factions such as the War God Temple, Yan Alliance, and Wu Xing Men that dominated the entire Great Xia region.
The War God Temple, Yan Alliance, and Wu Xing Men were all affiliated with the Great Xia government; however, their disciples enjoyed more freedom and were considered places for cultivating spirit warriors. Generally speaking, only when the military faced difficult situations would they call upon experts from these three factions for assistance.
Moreover, joining any of these major forces came with benefits, commonly referred to as "entitlements."
Xiao Yan was responsible for the branch of the Yan Alliance in Dongji City. However, Su Chen felt puzzled about why he was seeking him out. Did his recent achievements draw attention?
"Yan Lao Gui, you old rascal want to poach someone from me? Let me tell you, he must join our military!"
At that moment, a loud voice rang out.
Su Chen looked up to see a middle-aged man in military uniform striding toward them. His steps were steady, and he emanated an aura of authority that commanded respect and awe.
Isn't this the commander of the Guardian Army from Dongji City? Some onlookers stared at the middle-aged man in confusion, wondering why even the military had been stirred up.
Upon hearing this, Xiao Yan's expression changed dramatically. He turned sharply to face the middle-aged man, anger flashing in his eyes.
"What do you mean by that, Xiao Yan Zi? If you're going to poach someone, at least follow some etiquette! And what’s wrong with your military? Last time we faced a beast tide, didn’t you come begging us at the Yan Alliance for help?"
His voice was thick with tension and seemed ready to erupt at any moment.
Liu Yan's face was filled with anger as he retorted, "Yan Lao Gui, don't go too far! Last time, you snatched someone right under my nose. Our military needs talent, and I must take this child!"
His tone was firm and resolute, leaving no room for negotiation.
"Xiao Yan Zi, are you out of your mind? That person has a strong affinity for fire elements. If we don't cultivate him in the Yan Alliance, won't you just bury his talent?"
At that moment, the two were locked in a heated argument, their faces flushed with rage, neither willing to back down. They called each other by their names without a care for their image, making it hard for anyone to imagine that these two were the big shots of Dongji City.
As their shouting grew louder, curious glances from the surrounding crowd began to converge on them.
Su Chen finally understood; they were here to fight over him. It left him both amused and bewildered. How could a person who had been advised to leave the academy suddenly become a coveted prize, with two Master Level big shots personally vying for him?
Just as their argument reached a fever pitch, Tang Chen lightly cleared his throat and interjected, "Gentlemen, while you're fighting over this child, shouldn't you also consider his opinion?"
Upon hearing Tang Chen's words, both men abruptly fell silent.
