Evan and Elf traversed the ruins of the Flying City, having endured perilous trials, and finally discovered the legendary underground laboratory. Although everything appeared eerily quiet on the surface, Evan knew that the mission was still fraught with danger. The secrets of this laboratory lay buried beneath the dust of time, and the potion formulas were tightly intertwined with their fate. 0

As they stepped into the laboratory, Evan and Elf immediately felt a heavy, stale atmosphere. The air was thick with a mixture of herbs, caramel, and a faint metallic scent. The walls were lined with various jars and bottles containing liquids of all colors. On the table lay several yellowed scrolls, their edges brittle, as if each page recorded some ancient secret. 0

"Is this the formula for the magical potion?" Evan whispered, his gaze instinctively drawn to the scrolls on the table, filled with anticipation and curiosity. 0

Elf's ears perked up slightly as her eyes scanned the surroundings warily. "I’m not sure, but the atmosphere here tells me that this place holds the answers we need." 0

Evan picked up a scroll and carefully unfurled it, discovering it filled with complex symbols and patterns. He began to decipher them one by one, but many symbols were clearly unfamiliar, resembling some ancient script that Evan struggled to comprehend. 0

"These symbols are quite strange..." he murmured to himself. "They seem like they could be part of a formula, but I can't be certain if they truly represent the ingredients for a magical potion." 0

Elf approached him and examined the symbols closely. "These markings are remnants left by Ancient Alchemists. They are indeed related to potion formulas; however, not all symbols have explanations. It will take some time to fully decode them." 0

"What should we do then?" Evan frowned, a hint of anxiety creeping into his mind. 0

Elf's expression turned resolute. "First, we need to find some clues to confirm the true meanings of these symbols. Each symbol has its own story; unraveling them will lead us to the formula we need." 0

Evan set down the scroll and began searching for other clues within the laboratory. He noticed a pile of yellowed old books haphazardly stacked in a corner and walked over to flip through one of them. The cover was damaged, but upon opening it, he discovered a similar formula illustrated on its pages—a mysterious liquid depicted in a bottle with the words "Purifying Dark Power Potion" written beside it. 0

"This looks more like what we need," Evan pointed at the formula in the book. "Look, here are some ingredients: 'Spirit Blood', 'Dragon Scale Powder', 'Phoenix Feather'..." 0

Elf leaned closer to examine it, her eyes widening in surprise. "These are key components in ancient alchemical potions. 'Spirit Blood' and 'Phoenix Feather' are extremely rare and difficult to obtain materials, while 'Dragon Scale Powder' possesses immense magical power." Her voice was low and cautious. "These ingredients must be handled carefully because their power is too great; improper use could lead to unpredictable consequences." 0

“So, how are we going to find these materials?” Aiven asked, a hint of confusion in his voice. “Where are these materials located? How can we collect them?” 0

The Elf paused for a moment before slowly responding, “The Spirit Blood is usually found on Ael Island, which is a home to the Elves, but it is also fraught with danger. The Dragon Scale Powder is said to be hidden deep within the Burning Mountains, an area plagued by constant volcanic eruptions, making it extremely difficult to obtain. As for the Phoenix Feather, they reside in the Flame Nest on Heaven's Peak. That is the habitat of the Phoenix, filled with flames and firebirds; only the strongest can approach.” 0

“Ael Island, Burning Mountains, Flame Nest…” Aiven repeated these names, feeling both excited and apprehensive. “These places sound far more dangerous than any adventure we’ve faced before.” 0

The Elf's eyes sparkled with contemplation. “Indeed, but this is our only chance. Only by gathering these materials can we restore the Flying Heart and purify the power of the Dark Wings.” 0

Just as they fell into a thoughtful silence, a door in the laboratory creaked open, revealing a frail figure standing in the doorway. The person wore tattered robes, their face lined with wrinkles and their gaze deep and hollow. 0

“It seems you have discovered something,” the raspy voice of the figure cut through the air, carrying an indescribable weight. 0

Aiven spun around sharply, his eyes narrowing with suspicion. “Who are you? What are you doing here?” 0

The figure stepped into the laboratory and glanced at the formulas on the table before speaking slowly. “I am one of the Alchemists of this city. The formulas you see are the result of research conducted by my master and me. We attempted to create a potion capable of purifying dark powers, but we failed.” He looked at Aiven and the Elf, a complex emotion flickering in his eyes. “Now, fate has entrusted this task to you.” 0

“You’re saying you failed?” Aiven questioned, doubt creeping into his mind. “Then why are you still here?” 0

The old man's gaze dimmed as he spoke with a hint of bitterness. “We lacked sufficient materials and the courage to face forces beyond our control.” He paused and fixed Aiven with a deep stare. “You might succeed because you possess different strengths than we did back then.” 0

The Elf stepped closer to the old man with a slight wariness. “What do you know?” 0

With a sigh, the old man continued, “Your task is not just to find these materials. You must also understand the true formula for the potion. The power of the potion does not solely come from these ingredients; they must be blended in a specific order and method. It was only in our failure that we realized this blending process. We were unable to decipher the final step.” 0

Evan and Elf exchanged a glance, a sense of urgency swelling within them. "Can you tell us about this 'final step'?" Evan asked. 0

The old man silently walked to the corner of the room and retrieved a smooth stone tablet from a worn wooden box. It was inscribed with a series of symbols. "This is our final discovery and the reason for our failure. These symbols point to the method for concocting the potion, but they are designed in such a complex manner that only a true master alchemist can decipher them." 0

Elf approached and examined the symbols on the tablet closely. A flicker of complex emotion crossed her eyes. "These symbols look... very similar to the writing of the Ancient Elves, but they are mixed with various languages. Deciphering them will not be easy." 0

The old man nodded, his tone grave. "You must decode these symbols to truly understand how to prepare the potion. If you cannot unravel their secrets, the potion will not achieve its intended effect and may even turn into a dangerous poison." 0
