Zheng Mengni casually flipped through her phone and pointed at a picture, asking, "Who is this?"
Wei Jingxi leaned in slightly, squinting at the screen. "That's my aunt. Didn't you see her profile picture? It's a lotus flower. Clearly, she's not someone from our generation."
Zheng Mengni replied, "You can't even check your phone properly?"
"What about this one?" she asked.
"My mom."
"And this one?"
"My grandmother! Goodness, just give me your phone. I'll teach you," Wei Jingxi said, exasperated as he took the phone back.
"Alright, Wei Laoshi," Zheng Mengni said, sitting up straight like a well-behaved child in kindergarten, ready to learn.
Wei Jingxi held the phone in one hand while swiping through the screen with the other. His fingers were slender and long, with prominent knuckles and smooth skin; when he exerted himself, faint veins appeared on the back of his hand.
"Look, avatars like these anime ones or photos of popular young influencers are what people our age use. What kind of random stuff are you looking at?"
Zheng Mengni frowned; his words sounded a bit harsh to her. "How can my aunt, mom, and grandmother be considered random?"
"Alright, stop interrupting," Wei Jingxi said as he went through his friend list one by one, introducing each person to Zheng Mengni. She rested her chin on her hand and listened quietly.
Though it was somewhat boring, she didn’t interrupt and listened attentively, likely a result of her habit of focusing in class every day.
"This is my cousin; she's only ten years old and probably registered using my aunt's phone number."
"This is my older cousin; she's thirty and just married the heir of Dai Wei Group."
"This one is also my older cousin; she's twenty-three. I don’t know much about her since she hasn’t come back after studying abroad."
He introduced not only the girls but also the boys in his friend list.
Finally, Wei Jingxi's finger paused over a particular pink avatar, his expression stiffening slightly.
"This one..." He opened that person's profile multiple times and scrolled through their posts.
"No, I really don’t know this person."
Wei Jingxi feigned annoyance, trying to mask the joy bubbling within him. He had his own motives. Fortunately, there was indeed a girl on the list with no blood relation; otherwise, he wouldn't know what excuse to use for tattooing Zheng Mengni's name on his body.
Zheng Mengni watched him quietly.
Wei Jingxi smirked, "No, I'm a man of my word. If I’m getting a tattoo, then I will. But can I skip the Chinese name?"
Zheng Mengni chuckled helplessly, "What are you doing? I wasn't serious."
You better not be serious!
Alright then, I'll take it seriously.
After chatting for a while, Wei Jingxi suggested they take a selfie to post on social media—every interaction had to be documented.
Zheng Mengni had no objections, but she teased, "Can your face even be photographed?"
Wei Jingxi huffed, "Are you saying I'm ugly?"
"No, if you think it's good, just take the picture."
"Trust me for the technique; I'll show you what real skill looks like." With that, he opened the camera app and called out, "Ni Ni, come over here!"
