Zheng Mengni threw her phone onto the blanket, prompting Ye Bingran to quickly reach out for it. He discreetly glanced at the screen; it was dark. Then he looked back at the tearful Zheng Mengni and lowered his voice to ask, “What’s wrong?”
“Ye Bingran,” she sobbed, “I never expected you to be this kind of person. You’ve disappointed me too much.”
This was the first time Zheng Mengni called him by both his name and surname.
Ye Bingran blinked in confusion, "Ah?"
"You're still pretending! I know everything about your feelings. What else can you hide?"
Zheng Mengni felt a surge of anger at his innocent expression. What had started as an act now carried genuine emotions, making the performance even more convincing.
Ye Bingran rubbed his temples, "Wait a moment, let me sort this out."
He was actually quite forgetful; for instance, he would forget one thing as soon as he did another. However, since getting to know Zheng Mengni, he had not forgotten anything about her.
Ye Bingran pondered deeply, almost feeling like his head might explode. He looked up at Zheng Mengni and said gently, "Why don't you just tell me? I really can't guess."
Zheng Mengni retorted sarcastically, "You noble people forget easily. Can you really forget what you've done?"
Ye Bingran clutched his head and feigned pain, "You've misunderstood me. I just hit my head that day; my memory isn't as good as it used to be."
"But the doctor said you only injured your leg," Zheng Mengni replied.
Even the best doctors can overlook things sometimes.
Ye Bingran suddenly smiled knowingly, a hint of meaning in his expression. After all, the doctors responsible for him were all mediocre ones carefully selected by Tan Yan.
