Zheng Mengni hadn’t even made her move yet, and Ye Bing had already admitted his mistake and apologized on his own.

Taking advantage of her distraction, Ye Bing quietly hooked her little finger.
"I won't do anything to hurt you again. Please forgive me."
"Let's make a pinky promise, and that means you agree."
Zheng Mengni quickly pulled her hand back. "I didn't make a pinky promise with you; stop talking nonsense."
Ye Bing lowered his gaze to the fingertips that had just touched Zheng Mengni's, quietly smiling as he pressed his lips together.
"Give me a chance."
"I won't."
Ye Bing looked somewhat aggrieved. "You haven't even asked what the chance is about."
Zheng Mengni frowned. "Can't you just say it without me asking?"
"Then—"
Ye Bing had just begun to speak when Zheng Mengni quickly covered her ears. "I don't want to hear it."
Ye Bing shifted his position, painfully kneeling on one leg as he tried to bring his face closer to Zheng Mengni's.
