"Iron-Eating Beast's lair and Tianzhu Peak..." 0

I murmured to myself, trying to conjure images of these two places in my mind. 0

"Yes... that's the mountain..." 0

The voice of Odyssey was intermittent, as if it might vanish at any moment. 0

I looked up and saw a peak towering into the clouds, surrounded by mountains, with a hint of white snow visible at its summit. 0

"Is that Tianzhu Peak?" 0

A spark of realization flickered in my heart as I asked. 0

"Yes... the lair of the Iron-Eating Beast... should be right there..." 0

Odyssey's voice grew fainter until it finally disappeared completely. 0

"Odyssey? Odyssey?" 0

I called out anxiously, but received no response. 0

"Damn it, of all times..." 0

I slapped my forehead in frustration; the failure of Odyssey at such a critical moment was truly exasperating. 0

It seemed that from now on, I would have to rely solely on myself. 0

I took a deep breath and began to think of a plan. 0

According to the information previously provided by Odyssey, the lair of the Iron-Eating Beast and Tianzhu Peak should be deep within this forest, and that tallest peak was likely Tianzhu Peak itself. 0

"Then, let's head towards that mountain," I muttered to myself as I stood up and brushed off the dust from my clothes. 0

Although Odyssey was temporarily offline, I believed it would find a way to restore itself. 0

After all, we were now in this together; it wouldn’t want to be reclaimed by the main system either, right? 0

I chuckled at the thought and stepped forward into the depths of the forest. 0

"Huh? What’s that sound?" 0

After walking a few steps, a faint whimper reached my ears. 0

I paused and looked in the direction of the sound, noticing something moving in the grass not far away. 0

Cautiously, I parted the grass, and what lay before me made my eyes widen in shock. 0

"Is this... a dragon?" 0

Before me lay a palm-sized golden creature curled up in the grass, its body covered in fine golden scales. It had a pair of small horns on its head and a set of wings that were not fully unfolded yet. 0

This was clearly a miniature dragon! 0

"Are you hurt?" 0

I asked softly, careful not to frighten the little one. 0

The Little Golden Dragon lifted its head, looking at me with big, watery eyes filled with fear and helplessness. 0

My heart softened; it seemed this little creature had encountered some trouble. 0

"Don't be afraid, I mean no harm." 0

I eased my tone and tried to move closer. 0

"Whimper..." 0

The Little Golden Dragon let out a low whimper, its body trembling slightly. 0

I noticed a wound on its wing, as if it had been bitten by something. 0

"It seems you really are hurt," 0

I took out the Giant Apple I had picked earlier from the Space Ring, broke off a small piece, and held it out in front of the Little Golden Dragon. 0

"Have a bite. This should help you regain your strength." 0

The Little Golden Dragon hesitated, glancing between me and the piece of apple in my hand. In the end, it couldn't resist the temptation of food and opened its tiny mouth to take a bite. 0

"Good boy," I said with a smile, gently stroking its head. 0

The Little Golden Dragon seemed to enjoy my touch, comfortably squinting its eyes. 0

"What's your name? Why are you all alone here?" I asked as I continued to feed it. 0

Of course, the Little Golden Dragon couldn't answer my questions; it was too focused on eating the apple, occasionally letting out satisfied little sounds. 0

Watching it gobble down the food, I couldn't help but feel a pang of sympathy. 0

"It seems like you must be really hungry," I sighed. "From now on, stick with me. I'll take care of you." 0

The Little Golden Dragon seemed to understand my words. It lifted its head and looked at me with its wet, glistening eyes, then stretched out its tiny tongue to lick my finger. 0

"Is that a yes?" 0

I felt a surge of joy in my heart. 0

"Then from today on, you are my partner." 0

I gave the Little Golden Dragon a name: Xiao Jin. 0

"Xiao Jin, Xiao Jin," I gently called its name. 0

"From now on, we are family." 0

Xiao Jin seemed to like this name very much. It excitedly rubbed against my palm, making cheerful sounds. 0

"Alright, Xiao Jin, we need to continue our journey." 0

I carefully cradled Xiao Jin in my hands. 0

"Once we find the Iron-Eating Beast and Tianzhu Peak, we'll complete our mission and can return to the real world." 0

Xiao Jin appeared to understand me. It obediently lay in my palm, curiously observing everything around us. 0

A person and a dragon set off on a new journey together. 0

In the following days, I explored the mysterious forest with Xiao Jin. 0

Although Xiao Jin was still very young, it possessed some magical abilities. 0

For instance, it could smell the fragrance of rare plants from afar and help me pick fruits that grew high up. 0

This made my gathering work much easier. 0

"Xiao Jin, you are amazing!" 0

I couldn't help but praise, 0

"With your help, we will definitely complete our tasks faster." 0

Xiao Jin proudly lifted its head and let out a clear cry, as if to say, "Of course." 0

That day, we arrived at an open meadow. 0

In the meadow grew a peculiar plant, its flowers emitting a faint glow, gently swaying in the breeze, beautiful like a dream. 0

"What kind of plant is this? It's so beautiful!" 0

I couldn't resist stopping to admire this stunning sea of flowers. 0

"Is this... Glowing Mint?" 0

Suddenly, something clicked in my mind. 0

"Odyssey mentioned before that the leaves of this plant can be used to make an Invisibility Potion." 0

With that thought, I quickly took out a few scraps of the Invisibility Cloak from my Space Ring. 0

"Unfortunately, the Invisibility Cloak is already damaged," I sighed. "Otherwise, we could have used its stealth abilities to sneak into the Iron-Eating Beast's lair." 0

"Uh?" 0

Xiao Jin tilted its head at me, seemingly not understanding what I was saying. 0

"It's nothing, Xiao Jin," I smiled. "Let's gather some Glowing Mint first; it might come in handy later." 0

I crouched down and began to carefully pick the leaves of the Glowing Mint. 0

Xiao Jin mimicked my actions, using its tiny paws to help gather resources. 0

Just then, I suddenly heard a strange sound coming from a distance. 0

"Xiao Jin, do you hear that?" I asked cautiously. 0

Xiao Jin nodded; it had heard it too. 0

"Let's go check it out." 0

I stored the gathered Glowing Mint in my Space Ring and led Xiao Jin toward the source of the sound. 0

As we pushed through a dense thicket, the sight before us took us by surprise. 0

Not far away, a massive black-and-white creature was battling a Beast-headed Humanoid monster. 0

"Is that... the Iron-Eating Beast?" 0

I gasped in shock; wasn't this exactly the target we were looking for? 0

And the Beast-headed Humanoid monster was none other than the orc we had barely managed to evade earlier. 0

I quickly hid behind a large tree, secretly observing the battle. 0

The Iron-Eating Beast stood towering at over three meters high, its fur as hard as iron, rendering ordinary attacks utterly ineffective against it. 0

In contrast, the Orc was much more agile, continuously leaping around the Iron-Eating Beast in search of an opportunity to strike. 0

"Roar!" 0

The Orc let out a furious roar, its sharp claws slashing toward the Iron-Eating Beast's eyes. 0

The Iron-Eating Beast howled in pain, violently shaking its head and sending the Orc flying. 0

"What a chance!" 0

A thought sparked in my mind; this was the perfect moment to collect Orc Fur. 0

Although I had just completed the task of gathering Orc Fur, such a rare opportunity should not be wasted. Who knew if the system would reopen this task? 0

"Xiao Jin, wait for me here. I'll be right back." 0

I whispered to Xiao Jin. 0

Xiao Jin nodded obediently, looking at me with worried eyes. 0

Taking a deep breath, I quietly moved closer to the Orc. 0

The beastman was knocked away by the Iron-Eating Beast, crashing to the ground and remaining there for a long time without getting up. 0

Seizing the opportunity, I rushed to its side and pulled a few strands of hair from its body. 0

"Got it!" 0

A wave of triumph surged through me as I prepared to leave, but suddenly, I felt a strong gust of wind approaching. 0

"Oh no!" 0

I quickly rolled to the side, narrowly avoiding the beastman's attack. 0

It turned out that the beastman was not injured; it had merely been playing dead, waiting for the chance to counterattack. 0

"Damn it, I've been discovered!" 0

I cursed under my breath and hurriedly got to my feet to escape. 0

The beastman pursued me relentlessly, its speed far surpassing mine, and it was closing in fast. 0

Just when I thought I was done for, a flash of golden light appeared before me. Xiao Jin suddenly materialized, opening its small mouth and unleashing a burst of golden flames at the beastman. 0

"Is this... Dragon Breath?" 0

I stood there in shock, unable to believe that Xiao Jin could actually use a dragon's skill. 0

The beastman was struck by the flames, letting out a terrible scream as a large patch of its fur was singed. 0

Seizing the opportunity, I quickly ran back to Xiao Jin's side. 0

"Xiao Jin, are you okay?" I asked with concern. 0

Xiao Jin shook its head, signaling that it was fine. 0

"We need to get out of here!" 0

I scooped up Xiao Jin and ran toward the distance. 0

Although the beastman had been repelled by Xiao Jin's Dragon Breath, it did not give up the chase. 0

It roared angrily and continued to pursue us. 0

"Xiao Jin, can you use Dragon Breath one more time?" I asked while running. 0

Xiao Jin shook its head. It looked very weak, as if that last attack had drained all its energy. 0

"Damn it, this is bad!" 0

I was filled with anxiety; at this rate, we would soon be caught by the beastmen. 0

“Roar!” 0

The beastmen's roars grew closer, and I could even smell the foul stench emanating from them. 0

Just when I was about to lose hope, I suddenly spotted a lake ahead. 0

“Great! We’re saved!” 0

I felt a surge of joy and jumped into the lake, holding Xiao Jin tightly. 0

Though the beastmen were fierce, it seemed they couldn't swim and could only roar angrily from the shore. 0

I swam to the center of the lake with Xiao Jin and looked back at the beastmen on the bank, finally letting out a sigh of relief. 0

“We're safe for now,” I said to Xiao Jin. 0

Xiao Jin nestled in my arms, letting out soft whimpers. 0

I gently stroked its head and said, “Thank you, Xiao Jin, thank you for saving me.” 0

Xiao Jin seemed to understand my words. It nuzzled its head against my cheek, showing affection. 0

"Let's take a short break, and then we'll move on," I said to Xiao Jin. 0

"Our mission isn't complete yet." 0

Xiao Jin nodded, aware that we couldn't linger here for too long. 0

How could we shake off the orc's entanglement and continue to fulfill our mission? 0
