On a sunny weekend, Xiao Haochen temporarily set aside his heavy academic workload and ventured alone into the mountains outside the city to clear his mind. Sunlight filtered through the dense foliage, casting dappled shadows on the ground, while birds chirped joyfully in the branches above, as if performing a beautiful symphony of nature. Xiao Haochen strolled along the winding path, savoring this rare moment of tranquility and pleasure.
Suddenly, a brilliantly colored Little Bird flew overhead, its unique hues and lively form instantly capturing Xiao Haochen's attention. He unconsciously quickened his pace, eager to observe the beautiful Little Bird up close. The Little Bird seemed to playfully tease him, occasionally swooping low and then perching on a nearby branch, prompting Xiao Haochen to chase after it.
Before he knew it, Xiao Haochen found himself deep within an ancient forest. The trees here were tall and dense, making it difficult for sunlight to penetrate through the layers of leaves, enveloping the forest in an air of mystery. The surroundings were eerily silent, broken only by the sound of his footsteps and the occasional bird call.
"Strange, I've never been to this place before," Xiao Haochen murmured to himself with a furrowed brow. Yet his curiosity about the Little Bird compelled him to continue onward.
As he walked, a cave emitting a faint glow appeared before him. The vegetation surrounding the cave was unlike anything he had seen before, seemingly infused with a unique vitality. A strong sense of curiosity surged within him, and he found himself drawn toward the cave.
"What could be inside this cave?" Xiao Haochen stood at the entrance, hesitating for a moment. His heart was filled with curiosity but tinged with unease. Ultimately, however, curiosity triumphed over fear.
"Let’s go in and see; maybe I’ll discover something interesting." He took a deep breath to steady himself and slowly stepped into the cave.
Inside, a light mist hung in the air, and strange glimmers danced along the walls as if countless brilliant gems were embedded within them. Xiao Haochen cautiously moved forward, his eyes scanning everything around him. Suddenly, his foot slipped, and he stumbled forward.
When he opened his eyes again, he found himself in an entirely unfamiliar space. Here, clouds swirled around him like a dream. Ancient bookshelves lined the walls, filled with various books. The light on the walls was even more dazzling than in the cave, illuminating the entire space.
"Where is this? How did I end up here?" Xiao Haochen exclaimed in shock as he looked around, confusion flooding his mind.
At that moment, an elderly yet gentle voice echoed in his ear: "Young man, your arrival here signifies that you are destined to be connected with this place."
Xiao Haochen looked around in panic but saw no one: "Who are you? Where are you?"
"I am the guardian of this space, and I have waited here for countless ages," the voice replied.
"What exactly is this place?" Xiao Haochen pressed on.
"This is the mysterious realm left by the Ancient Medical Immortal, accessible only to those with fate," the guardian explained.
A wave of excitement surged within Xiao Haochen. "The Ancient Medical Immortal? Then what about the books on these shelves..."
"Indeed, these books contain unparalleled medical knowledge. If you can comprehend them, you will surely be able to heal the world and benefit all living beings," the guardian's voice carried a hint of hope.
Eagerly, Xiao Haochen approached the shelves, gently caressing each book. His eyes sparkled with excitement. Suddenly, he noticed a stone platform in the center of the space, upon which rested a medical book radiating a faint glow.
He hurried over and picked up the Medical Book, noticing that its cover bore the ancient characters "Ancient Divine Physician's Record." As he opened the book, he saw words and illustrations he had never encountered before, yet they evoked an inexplicable sense of familiarity.
"This Medical Book is the essence of this space; you must cherish it," the guardian said.
"I will definitely do so!" Xiao Haochen exclaimed, holding the Medical Book tightly. "I will work hard to study it and not waste this opportunity."
"I hope you can uphold the benevolence of a healer and use your medical skills to save others," the guardian advised.
Xiao Haochen nodded solemnly. "I swear to take saving lives as my duty and never misuse my medical knowledge."
In the mysterious space, Xiao Haochen eagerly flipped through various Medical Books, absorbing knowledge with great fervor. He lost track of time, and when he finally regained his senses, he found himself back outside the cave. The Ancient Divine Physician's Record in his hands continued to emit a soft glow, as if reminding him that all of this was not a dream.
"This is all too incredible," Xiao Haochen murmured as he gazed at the Medical Book in his hands. "But perhaps this is the opportunity that will change my fate."
With a heart full of hope for the future and a passion for medicine, Xiao Haochen set off on his journey home. He knew that from this moment on, his life would undergo a profound transformation.
