"Help! Save me, Yi Yi!"
Liu Ru Yan was engulfed in pain, desperately calling for help, but no sound escaped her lips. Yet, she knew she could reach out to Lan Ruo Yi.
Hearing Liu Ru Yan's cries for help, Lan Ruo Yi paced anxiously in the hospital corridor. Could they really treat her? Lan Ruo Yi listened to her suffering and watched as doctors continued their examinations, feeling unusually irritated.
This was a hospital! Mo Daowan reminded Lan Ruo Yi, noting that his sister usually didn't appear this anxious. What was going on with her this time?
Just as Lan Ruo Yi was about to lose her composure, a tall, handsome man walked down the corridor, drawing everyone's attention. However, Lan Ruo Yi was oblivious to him; her mind was consumed by Liu Ru Yan's cries.
Liu Ru Yan felt as if she were frozen, an overwhelming chill enveloping her. She sensed a warmth nearby, and the cold compelled her to draw closer. To onlookers, it appeared as if Liu Ru Yan was leaning against Mo Daowan.
Mo Daowan felt pleased by this, but Liu Yuchuan's expression darkened ominously.
As Lan Ruo Yi followed the doctor out, Liu Yuchuan shot a hostile glance at Mo Daowan. "Mo, thank you for taking care of her. Xiao Yan doesn't need your support anymore."
With that, he intended to push the two apart. However, Liu Ru Yan clung tightly to Mo Daowan with surprising strength. Mo Daowan smiled awkwardly at Liu Yuchuan.
"Your niece is quite affectionate," he remarked with a chuckle. But he soon realized that this wasn't the time for jokes.
Lan Ruo Yi held the examination report tightly, her brows furrowed in distress. "Doctor, she's currently unconscious. Are you sure there are no issues with your tests?"
The doctor found it strange as well; it was evident that the girl had a fever and was in a deep coma. Yet aside from her elevated temperature, there seemed to be no other problems.
According to all the tests conducted so far, that appeared to be the case. The doctor was reluctant to admit it, but it seemed they were at a loss.
Lan Ruo Yi felt helpless; she knew Liu Ru Yan was suffering greatly but couldn't help her. What was happening to her?
Liu Ru Yan struggled to regain consciousness, but a sharp pain pierced through her head as if something were hammering against it. Memories of being engulfed in flames flooded back to her.
At that moment, she hadn't had time to feel the heat; now she was experiencing it fully and heard someone say, "How could you bring her here? Are you trying to get us all killed?"
Liu Ru Yan thought bitterly: Who is risking their life here? I'm the one who’s about to lose mine!
"Look at me! I don't believe you can just stand there blankly."
"Yi Yi, are you there????"
Lan Ruo Yi was still lost in her thoughts when she heard Liu Ru Yan's voice, a sound she could tell was different from before.
"I'm here. Are you awake?" Lan Ruo Yi felt an immense relief that they could connect with each other directly from the heart; at least she understood what was happening instead of being completely confused.
"Mm." Liu Ru Yan's voice still carried a hint of weakness, but it was clear that she had pulled herself out of that painful state.
Lan Ruo Yi quickened her pace, and those in the hospital only felt a gust of wind rush past them. She thought that if Liu Ru Yan saw this scene, she would probably be startled, just as she was.
In the hospital room, two men stood and sat—one sitting with a woman who was desperately nuzzling against him, while the other stood, his gaze fixed intensely on the woman.
Liu Yuchuan never expected that the usually quiet man would also have a lecherous side; here he was, being nuzzled by a woman who had lost her senses.
He resolutely refused to acknowledge that this was his niece.
With a loud bang, the door to the room swung open, and both men turned their gazes toward the entrance, locking eyes with Lan Ruo Yi.
Lan Ruo Yi hadn’t intended to appear so abruptly, but her excitement made her rush in, only to feel something was off. Who was the person lying in her brother's arms? Had she been gone for so long? What had happened?
What?
Huh?
Am I coming at the wrong time? Lan Ruo Yi instinctively thought about stepping back but was immediately grabbed by Liu Yuchuan by the wrist.
Liu Yuchuan gently stroked her delicate wrist and looked at Lan Ruo Yi. "Where do you think you're going? Did you bring the wedding ring?"
Lan Ruo Yi nodded but remained dazed as she stared at the hand of another person on her wrist.
Liu Ru Yan, lying in Mo Daowan's embrace, secretly opened one eye to take a peek before closing it again upon sensing the man's movement.
"Yi Yi, are you going to become my aunt?"
"What nonsense are you talking about?" Lan Ruo Yi rolled her eyes at the air in exasperation. "Please, he's your uncle! Are you kidding me? Does he even deserve it?"
He doesn’t deserve it. Liu Ru Yan initially wanted to tease Lan Ruo Yi but suddenly realized what she had just said.
I really should have kept my mouth shut. Liu Ru Yan regretted her words, wondering why she had to speak up in the first place!
Lan Ruo Yi's lips twitched slightly as she reached up to smooth them out, glancing at Liu Yuchuan.
She had no physical issues; once we tidied up, we could head home!
Liu Yuchuan and Mo Daowan exchanged glances. "You call this 'no issues'?"
