"I remember where I've seen her!" Bai Juan finally recalled, mentioning a time she had visited the office in Jiangnan and had seen a folder there.
"Where?" Zhang Baofeng asked eagerly, genuinely curious. Even if it was just gossip, he wanted to know.

Bai Juan also expressed her respect, noting that this young lady must be enduring hardships by coming to work here. "Her family background wouldn't be something Xiao Jiang would be interested in, right?"
Zhang Baofeng nodded in agreement but was also a bit curious about Lan Ruo Yi's family. "If she can hang out with Liu Ru Yan, her background must not be bad either."
Lan Ruo Yi didn’t expect to be noticed because of Liu Ru Yan’s family status, but even if she knew, it didn’t matter much to her. At that moment, she was slightly dazed as she looked at the couple that had suddenly appeared before her. She glanced at Liu Ru Yan, who winked at her.
Realizing what was happening, she quickly stood up and instinctively called out, "Mom and Dad, this is Lan Ruo Yi, a friend of A Yan."
Hearing her introduction, Liu Ru Yan burst into laughter, tears of joy welling up in her eyes.
Lan Ruo Yi felt a bit embarrassed and knew she had misspoken. However, Zhu Chenfu and Liu Wumai didn’t seem to mind; in fact, they looked quite pleased.
"Uncle, Auntie," Lan Ruo Yi introduced herself again and apologized for her earlier behavior.
Zhu Chenfu chuckled softly and said, "Haha, your mom is so lucky to have you two precious ones!"
Lan Ruo Yi felt even more awkward; honestly speaking, if there had been a crack in the floor, she would have wanted to disappear into it right then.
Liu Wumai smiled at Lan Ruo Yi as well. In contrast to the cheerful atmosphere here, Liu Yuchuan and Mo Daowan were not as happy.
Liu Yuchuan wrapped his arms around himself and gazed at the harmonious scene nearby, feeling something was off. Was he being isolated? Did those people not see him?
He heard Lan Ruo Yi calling out to her parents again and noticed a flicker of disapproval in his eyes, though he still respected the situation.
Thinking about this strange comfort he found in himself, he wanted to share the news with Mo Daowan. However, he noticed Mo Daowan frowning, as if pondering something serious. At that moment, Mo Daowan wondered if her parents didn't like him, as they had not shown him any warm smiles.
So, when Liu Yuchuan tried to share with Mo Daowan, she didn’t really pay attention but nodded in agreement. It wasn’t until she heard Liu Yuchuan say, “Sigh, what’s up with Xiao Yan? How can she like girls?” that she realized the atmosphere had suddenly thickened.
Zhu Chenfu and Liu Wumai exchanged shocked glances at their daughter. They hadn’t expected that within such a short time, their daughter’s sexual orientation had changed. Hadn’t they heard she was dating Mo Daowan before? Was it all just rumors?
Liu Ru Yan asked, “What did you just say?” Lan Ruo Yi facepalmed; she hadn’t thought Liu Yuchuan would still be thinking about her relationship with Liu Ru Yan. Had he actually believed it? Nothing anyone said would change that now.
Mo Daowan was confused. “What did I miss? When did Liu Ru Yan start liking girls?” She coughed lightly, reminding Liu Yuchuan not to say such shocking things.
Liu Yuchuan quickly realized he had blurted out something unexpected and tried to backtrack. “I was just joking! Forget what I said!”
Lan Ruo Yi quickly nodded in agreement. “Yes, yes! He’s just joking!”
The topic was swiftly brushed aside, and throughout this exchange, Liu Ru Yan remained silent. She felt she had been too kind to Liu Yuchuan; how could he twist her feelings into something so ridiculous?
Dinner was a simple affair. Mo Daowan was reluctantly roped into helping Liu Yuchuan wash vegetables. This initiative primarily came from Liu Wumai, who enjoyed the cooking process as it felt very relieving for him. So, he took the lead in suggesting that they cook dinner together, and Zhu Chenfu readily agreed, happily selecting a few of her favorite dishes.
Liu Yuchuan resigned himself to calling Liu Da and Liu Er to bring fresh vegetables while Liu Wumai chatted amiably with them for a while.
Liu Da mainly chatted with Liu Ru Yan for a while. In his eyes, Liu Ru Yan would always be the adorable young lady from his family, so he viewed her through a lens of affection. He had been dissatisfied with Liu Yuchuan for quite some time.
Liu Er communicated normally with Liu Wumai for a bit, helping to carry the dishes into the kitchen before taking his leave.
Liu Ru Yan, Lan Ruo Yi, and Zhu Chenfu lay on the sofa, watching this scene unfold, feeling as if the sunset was infinitely beautiful.
