Liu Ru Yan felt a dampness at her neck and tightly embraced Mo Wan.
"Now that you remember, can I still continue to love you?"
Mo Wan's voice was cautious; he wasn't sure if Liu Ru Yan was feeling pity for her.
Liu Ru Yan's mischievous side surfaced at that moment, taking advantage of Mo Wan's reluctance to look at her. "Loving me is your right, but my love for you is another matter."
Mo Wan couldn't believe it. He suddenly lifted his head and saw the glimmer of tears in Liu Ru Yan's eyes, realizing he had been deceived again.
With a sigh, he wiped away her tears, not wanting to say anything more—just being alive was enough.
"Alright, I will love you forever, but I'm so scared."
"What are you afraid of?"
Liu Ru Yan used his hand to dry her tears.
Mo Wan embraced her again without saying anything more, but Liu Ru Yan sensed that she had startled him.
"When I'm better, will you come home with me?" Liu Ru Yan asked, eagerly awaiting his reaction.
She felt his body stiffen in response.
She laughed, teasingly, "What kind of reaction is that?"
Mo Wan felt a bit hesitant to speak. "You don't have to say that just to make it up to me."
Liu Ru Yan burst into laughter. "How could you think that?"
"That's how novels portray it; promises are only made out of compensation."
Mo Wan felt a twinge of unhappiness as he thought about how novels often depicted such situations, suggesting he must have done something wrong to himself.
"Are you unwilling?"
"I am willing."
"Hahahahahaha!"
"I'm serious; let's get married!" Liu Ru Yan said without joking or trying to tease Mo Wan.
This was something she had indeed contemplated for a long time, even from the moments when she was still unconscious, flashes of memories replaying in her mind.
Even though Mo Wan cared for her during her amnesia, she felt that no other man would ever treat her like that again in this lifetime.
"Alright!" Mo Wan agreed. He had waited for so long for her, loved her for so long, and had long wanted to marry her.
However, just as Liu Ru Yan was about to say something, Mo Wan interrupted, "No 'buts'."
Liu Ru Yan sighed but continued, "Being with me might be very dangerous. You’re innocent; would you still be willing to marry me?"
"If you die, I’ll die with you."
Mo Wan didn’t hesitate at all. Liu Ru Yan felt a wave of emotion and chose not to speak further. They held each other tightly, content in their understanding of Liu Ru Yan's family situation.
"Are you two done yet?"
As they were cuddling on the sofa, a voice came from the doorway. They quickly released their embrace and sat up straight.
Liu Yuchuan entered, supporting Lan Ruo Yi, and looked at them with a hint of confusion. "Why did you close the door on Yi Yi while you were talking?"
"It's still a bit cold since spring just started," she continued. "Her health isn’t fully recovered; it’s chilly."
Liu Yuchuan scolded them lightly, but Liu Ru Yan keenly caught the implication in her words: "Spring has started?"
"Yes," Mo Wan confirmed with a nod; he had indeed forgotten about it.
Liu Ru Yan looked at Lan Ruo Yi in disbelief, and Lan Ruo Yi nodded in agreement. "Yes, the trees in the yard have already begun to bud."
"Have we really been unconscious for so long?"
Liu Ru Yan recalled that they had fainted during a heavy snowfall, just a week before the New Year.
"It’s been a month," Liu Yuchuan said with a hint of sadness in her voice. "If their vital signs hadn’t shown normal and they hadn’t woken up, both families might have already sent them abroad."
What exactly did you see? Liu Yuchuan still couldn't believe the scene he had witnessed. The two of them lay in the snow, their bodies riddled with holes from cold weapons. It was well known that in this era, such weapons were banned in the country.
But putting that aside, how did we handle this? Liu Ru Yan didn't want to bring it up; she just wanted to know how Si Ren dealt with it or what they had said.
The fact that he could say that meant he hadn't seen anyone else at the scene. I wanted to ask you too; you Si Ren went to the Hyatt Hotel, so why were only the two of you at Wan Zheng Hu Tong?
Liu Yuchuan was puzzled. He had instructed someone to keep an eye on Wan Zheng Hu Tong because of Wang Yang's matter, yet Liu Er reported only the two of them at Wan Zheng Hu Tong. They hurried over but still failed.
Are you sure you only saw us? Lan Ruo Yi also sensed something was off. It shouldn't just be the two of them, right? They had entered together with Bai Juan Zhang Baofeng!
Zhu and the others were there too; what was going on?
Strange? The two exchanged glances, both thinking of a possibility but feeling it was unlikely. That person had already distanced themselves from them, hadn't they?
Only the two of you? Is that really true? Liu Yuchuan confirmed again and still saw only the two of them enter. Mo Wan nodded in agreement.
Looking at them, it seemed that perhaps things weren't as simple as they appeared. We entered together with Bai Juan Zhang Baofeng!
