Oman cautiously unlocked the door with a key, and with a crisp click, the lock opened. He slowly pushed the door open, only to be hit by a musty smell and a cloud of dust, causing both him and Max to cough uncontrollably.
Suppressing his cough, Oman covered his mouth and nose, carefully entering the room and feeling his way to the light switch. After flipping the switch, the orange light flickered a few times before stabilizing, illuminating the entire apartment.
The room's furnishings appear somewhat old-fashioned but fully functional. Inside, there are cabinets, a coffee table, and a small cozy living room space. The worn-out sofa and TV stand seem to show signs of aging. Towards the back of the living room is a small open kitchen with a breakfast bar. Additionally, the apartment has two doors, one leading to a guest room and the other to the toilet and bathroom. The sight inside the room leaves him slightly disappointed. The old walls are covered in dust, and the furniture surfaces are coated with a thick layer of dust, clearly indicating that no one has tended to it for a long time.
Max coughs on the side, expressing surprise in his tone: "Wow, it seems like nobody has lived in this room for a really long time!" He looks around, his face showing an incredulous expression.
Oman coughed lightly, looking at the old sofa in the living room, covered with dust. The TV stand was also dusty, showing signs of long-term disuse. They noticed some old newspapers and miscellaneous items piled up in the corner of the living room, clearly accumulated over a considerable period of time.
"This place really needs a thorough cleaning," Max said, with a hint of apology in his voice. "If you need any help or want to buy some cleaning supplies, just let me know."
Oman looked at this simple space, feeling a bit disappointed, but he was determined to turn it into a comfortable living place. "Thank you, Max. I might need some cleaning tools and essential items for daily life," Oman replied.
Max nodded in understanding and began listing some nearby stores and markets, telling Oman where he could buy the items he needed. He also reminded Oman that he could seek help from him anytime if he encountered any difficulties or questions.
Oman expressed gratitude to Max and then bid farewell as Max left, allowing Oman to begin dealing with this new environment. Oman started planning in his mind how to clean and rearrange the space, despite facing a simple and messy room. He knew that this was the beginning of his new life at the 'Guardians of Time Association' and a symbol of his new life.
Oman placed his bag in the guest room and then took out a mask, determined to give this new home a thorough cleaning. He started in the living room, carefully cleaning every corner with a broom and cloth, gradually removing the accumulated dust and trash. Then, he took out a broom and began to clean the dust and debris on the floor. He found that the corners under the floor were filled with old debris, so he carefully moved these items and meticulously cleaned every inch of space.
Next, Oman used a cloth to wipe the sofa and chairs, and found that their surfaces were also covered with a thick layer of dust. Although the furniture looked old, after cleaning, its former elegance could still be seen. He carefully wiped every line and corner, trying to restore their original luster.
Oman then turned to the TV cabinet and bookshelf, and found that these places had also accumulated a lot of dust. He wiped while carefully moving books and decorations, ensuring that each item received proper cleaning. During the cleaning process, he also found some old photos and letters, which made him curious about the previous occupant of the room.
After finishing cleaning the living room, Oman turned to the kitchen. The small open kitchen looked relatively tidy on the surface, but the cabinets and drawers had accumulated a lot of grease and food residue. Oman patiently cleaned every cabinet and drawer, ensuring that every corner of the kitchen was refreshed.
Next, he turned to the bathroom and toilet. The cleaning work here was more challenging, as there was a lot of limescale accumulation in the gaps between the tiles and on the faucets. Oman scrubbed hard, feeling a sense of satisfaction emerging as he cleaned.
Finally, he returned to the guest room, organized and placed his luggage, and gave the room a final tidy. He changed the sheets to clean ones and placed some personal items in their appropriate places.
After a few hours of hard work, Oman finally finished cleaning the apartment. He sat wearily on the sofa in the living room, admiring his handiwork. Although the apartment still appeared old, it was now at least clean and comfortable.
Oman was lying on the sofa, panting, trying to recover from the recent exhaustion. Suddenly, a knock on the door broke the room's tranquility. Curiously, he stood up and walked to the door, opening it to see who it was. Standing outside the door was Max, holding a bag of drinks and food.
Looking at Oman's tired appearance, Max smiled and said, "All the household items and stuff are closed at the supermarket! Let's go shopping tomorrow when you have time! You've been busy all day, so let's eat something and take a rest for now." He raised the bag in his hand, containing cold beer and hot fish and chips.
Oman showed a grateful smile as Max entered the room. They sat together on the sofa in the living room and began to enjoy this simple yet delicious dinner. The coolness of the beer and the warmth of the food created a perfect contrast, bringing a sense of relief to Oman.
While eating, Max also shared some interesting stories and knowledge about the 'Guardians of Time Association', making the atmosphere even more relaxed and enjoyable. Listening to Max's stories, Oman felt more and more integrated into this new environment and team.
