"Go home."
Ye Yunfeng spoke again. An Nuan's mind was buzzing, and she didn't even hear what he was saying. She just numbly followed his lead.
Watching as An Nuan was being pulled away by Ye Yunfeng, Chu Lingchuan suddenly stood up and strode quickly towards An Nuan.
"Wait."
"Hmm?"
Ye Yunfeng turned around, his eyes narrowed as he looked at Chu Lingchuan.
A cheeky grin, tinged with a hint of recklessness, appeared on Chu Lingchuan's face.
Looking at An Nuan, Chu Lingchuan suddenly stepped forward, took her hand, and pressed a gentlemanly kiss onto the back of it, utterly disregarding how dark Ye Yunfeng's expression had become.
"Lu An Nuan, right? Don't be afraid. If he doesn't want you, I do. This young master has a soft spot for your type!"
"Get lost!" Ye Yunfeng spat out a single cold word, simultaneously pulling An Nuan forcefully behind him with a strong hand. Almost instantly, he swung a fierce kick towards Chu Lingchuan.
Chu Lingchuan instinctively dodged, forced to quickly release An Nuan's hand and jump backward.
"Ye Yunfeng, you're so ruthless." Chu Lingchuan grimaced, his face full of resentment. An Nuan was startled by Ye Yunfeng's sudden action.
Chu Lingchuan didn't look like someone to be trifled with. Anyone who dared to make such a scene in a casino surely had some connections or skills. If Ye Yunfeng treated him like this, wasn't he afraid of retaliation?
She couldn't help but worry, carefully holding Ye Yunfeng's large hand and looking up at him, only to see a look of disdain on his face. "I can be even more ruthless. You should know, as long as I..."
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, you're really heartless!" Before Ye Yunfeng could finish, Chu Lingchuan became anxious. An Nuan watched his almost hopping impatience with a puzzled expression.
Did these two know each other?
"Ye Yunfeng, you're genuinely married?" Chu Lingchuan asked, clearly not believing it.
Women were fine for a fling.
Marriage?
Would Ye Yunfeng let a woman tie him down? If he'd wanted to, the marriage between the Ye family and the Chu family would have happened ages ago. His own cousin wouldn't have waited for so long, only to see no interest from Ye Yunfeng.
"Have you ever seen me personally go out of my way for any woman?" Ye Yunfeng shot him an annoyed glance. Chu Lingchuan had to admit he had a point.
He was well aware of Ye Yunfeng's foul temper since childhood. But for him to be serious this time, it was still a bit surprising. The speed was simply too fast.
"You're not creating this woman deliberately to dodge your marriage with my cousin, are you? Did you come to take this person also hoping I'd put in a good word for you with the Chu family? While my cousin's personality is indeed a bit unpleasant, she's still a member of the Chu family, just like me, Chu Lingchuan. What makes you think I would help you?"
Chu Lingchuan's eyes narrowed, filled with interest in An Nuan. His playful gaze lingered on her, making her feel incredibly uncomfortable.
She instinctively flinched, completely hiding herself behind Ye Yunfeng's tall frame, only then feeling a little more at ease.
Ye Yunfeng was someone she couldn't afford to offend, yet she already had. But this Chu Lingchuan? She would absolutely not get involved with him.
She knew her own capabilities and that asking too many questions wouldn't benefit her.
It didn't matter what relationship Chu Lingchuan's cousin had with Ye Yunfeng; to her, it was all irrelevant.
Lu An Nuan's involvement with Ye Yunfeng was to save her mother. Now, she no longer cared about that, and everything else was irrelevant to her.
