Book Synopsis
The alarm clock rang at ten twenty, but the person under the blanket showed no signs of waking up. I sighed; it seemed I had quite a bit to drink last night.
I got up and walked to the window, pulling back the curtains to look outside at the drizzling rain, which calmed my mood considerably.
"Awake?" A deep voice came from behind me. I turned around to meet his deep-set eyes. "What time is it?"
"Ten thirty. Your phone is dead. Do you need to contact anyone?" He handed me a cup of warm water, which I accepted with a thank you.
"No need. Did I say anything to you last night when I was drunk?" Some fragments flashed through my mind, but they were all unclear; I only remembered that I seemed to have said a lot of nonsense.
"You asked me to marry you." He stepped closer, his tone calm, but I could detect a hint of barely concealed tension.
My heart skipped a beat, and my cheeks instantly flushed hot. "I..."
"I agreed."
