Book Synopsis
The night market on Khao San Road in Bangkok was bustling and noisy, the air thick with the rich scent of durian mixed with curry. I squatted in front of an old woman's stall, casually sifting through a pile of vintage trinkets when a uniquely designed belt buckle caught my eye.
I bought it for two hundred baht and fastened it around my waist, but an inexplicable chill spread from my fingertips throughout my body. Suddenly, my girlfriend Mina turned pale, grabbing my hand tightly. Her family had been mediums for generations, highly sensitive to supernatural forces.
"Do you feel it?" she trembled, "This belt buckle... it's watching us."
The surrounding noise seemed to vanish in an instant as I looked down at the blurred patterns on the buckle. The design twisted into the face of a woman, grinning eerily at me. I felt a wave of dizziness wash over me as a woman's voice suddenly echoed in my ears: "My child... give it back to me..."
