Book Synopsis
In the Gu Family, Sun Aunty often warned her daughter not to associate with the wealthy young masters. She had her own concerns, fearing that her daughter might stray onto the wrong path and lose sight of her own identity, which could jeopardize her job. Wu Yunyun was a well-behaved child; she took her mother’s words to heart and dared not overstep any boundaries. However, perhaps due to the old saying that what one fears most often comes to pass, she found herself falling for Gu Si Yi, the young master of the Gu Family. She understood the reason behind her feelings: he was carefree and did whatever he pleased, and more importantly, he fit perfectly within her aesthetic preferences.
As the first semester of junior high came to an end, Wu Yunyun secretly began a relationship with Gu Si Yi without telling her mother. It was he who first suggested it, asking if they should give it a try. Wu Yunyun was momentarily stunned, and he then declared, "Then I’ll take that as a yes." Thus, they became a couple.
Once they were together, there was no need for her to hide; yet Gu Si Yi maintained a certain distance from her, often making it hard for her to see him. Their relationship lasted only six months. On Gu Si Yi's birthday, Wu Yunyun carefully prepared longevity noodles for him. However, he merely glanced at them before telling her it was over. She soon realized that he had only been with her to provoke someone else.
Heartbroken, Wu Yunyun told her mother she wanted to transfer schools. From that day on, she avoided him at all costs. Little did she know that the boy who once rejected her would soon entangle himself in her life once again...
