Book Synopsis
In the noisy hospital corridor, I tightly clutched the Pregnancy Test Report in my hand, my thoughts a chaotic mess as the doctor's cold question replayed in my mind: "Pregnant for nine weeks. Besides me, your husband, are there any other men?"
I took a deep breath, trying to suppress the panic inside me, and feigned calm as I looked at the unfamiliar man before me. I said coldly, "Sir, you must have mistaken me for someone else."
He raised an eyebrow, a hint of amusement curling at the corners of his mouth. His long, defined fingers lightly tapped on the table as he spoke slowly, "It's been two months, and you've forgotten who you are?"
A jolt of fear surged through me at his words. Just then, he suddenly stood up and pushed me against the wall, his deep-set eyes locking onto mine with an intense gaze. His voice was low and dangerous as he asked, "What? Playing amnesia?"
