Book Synopsis
In 2015 Shanghai, archivist Lin Sui stumbled upon a hidden family letter containing black market codes from 1947, pointing to the Nanchang Road Old House. She stepped into the musty mansion, uncovering the mystery of the missing writer Shen Jingqiu. Tickets, butterfly shadows, and codes intertwined as Shen Jingqiu signed a soul contract for gold bars, trapping herself in a time loop where the Blue Butterfly became a cage. As Lin Sui sought the truth, the butterfly marks on her wrist deepened, merging her fear with the shadow of her mother's disappearance. The old house whispered secrets, and reflections in mirrors revealed phantoms; she became the new prisoner of a curse, with time fractures consuming her reason. The truth was like a knife, and desire along with human nature served as locks from which there was no escape.
